Aren't some Subaru's made in the US?

Not that buying American helps America. Consumers have very little choice and even when there were concerted efforts to buy American outsourcing was inevitable due to the nature of capitalism and our business culture.

Yes, Legacies and Outbacks are made in Lafayette, IN. That's an Imprezza, made in Japan.

I believe, and I could be wrong, that the ones for the American market are made in the US, and ones for countries like Australia (where I hail from), are made in Japan? Much like how although Ford is American, we make the Ford Falcon in Australia (Although I don't think you guys actually see that model in the States?)

I took this pic in Hong Kong, where somehow the train station sign makers are followers of classic Mitch:

"I like an escalator, because an escalator can never break. It can only become stairs. You'll never see an 'Escalator Out of Order' sign, only 'Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience.'"

Have you ever been on an escalator that had broken down, and suddenly started free-spinning? It's not a whole bunch of fun. Trust me. Go and find the actual stairs.

Have some majestic-rear end biscuits.

Sounds like they meant nothing was holding the individual steps at their present location, so the whole thing became a stair-shaped treadmill.

:spergin: Subaru has a plant in Indiana shared with Toyota that makes the Legacy, Outback and Tribeca for the US market. All other models, including the Legacy and Outback models sold outside of NAFTA, are made in Japan. That car is an Impreza and is made in Japan. Subaru's corporate parent Fuji Heavy Industries started life as Nakajima, a prominent maker of warplanes for the Japanese war effort in WW2.
