Oh, drat, I didn't even know this was a GIF. I checked this thread yesterday and the GIF was frozen on what I guess was the second frame of the transition, because it just looked like Mabel and Dipper at first but with an extremely faint image of the creepy stuff overlaid on top. You could barely make out what it was, but it was there, like those blurry images of Einstein where you defocus your eyes and see Marilyn Monroe instead. I thought it was a really neat way of showing some eerieness without being really in-your-face about it. Today, though, the GIF actually loaded. Welp. e: like this
