>Something like a dinosaur-infused Lord of the Rings but with Dexter’s Laboratory cartoon characters n’ dinosaurs and with a Genndy Tartakovsky/Cartoon Network slant as well.

>Envisioned as a multi-part(?) big screen big-budget(?) epic blockbuster film saga

>Will be in discussion with CN and/or Genndy Tartakovsky (over legalities and probably development on the project); will be in discussion with Warner Bros. to distribute it probably around the world (with 20th Century Fox or some other studio distributing it in the USA)

>Live Action locations (some of them digitally enhanced and some extended with miniatures) and live actors (hopefully with the absence of big name Hollywood stars), mixed with 2-D hand drawn cartoon characters (especially those from Dexter’s Laboratory) in the Genndy Tartakovsky animation art and design styles of Dexter’s Laboratory (at least the original 1990s pre-21st Century run of the show) and Samurai Jack, and mostly CGI dinosaur effects (save for some occasional close-up shots that’ll be done with sophisticated animatronic puppetry components)

>Live action cast of characters to be made of non-professional no-names and relative unknowns (some of them will be locales and extras, but some or many of them from high-school drama clubs, youth offender programs and other youth programs) but with few or no big name Hollywood movie stars

>Mixes moments of lighthearted comedy with strong elements of epic fantasy, science fiction and big Hollywood dinosaur-themed action adventure fantasy

>Tonal shift from wacky parody/comedy to epic heroic fantasy with some sci-fi elements thrown in

>All live action elements in entire series—hopefully all twelve films, and hopefully three hours or so each—to be made entirely back-to-back in a single marathon live action principal photography shooting schedule

>Production team numbering in tens(?) or hundreds(?) of thousands(?)—including thousands of 2D animation artists

>Dee Dee’s two friends MeeMee and LeeLee to be two of the four main protagonists (the other two being Dexter and Dee Dee themselves)

>Dee Dee’s Asian friend Lee Lee to be, with Dexter, at the heart of the epic tale; to become a Mulan-type heroic female warrior who holds the key and power to save the world from the evil Dark Lord Mandark (before you can say “Mulan", of course)

>Mandark (Dexter’s arch-rival neighbor in the show “Dexter’s Laboratory) to be basically [like] Sauron from The Lord of the Rings, but with a fascination with—and then abuse—of high technology as well as a desire to capture Dexter’s sister Dee Dee and take her back to Mandark’s realm to be his bride

>Story progresses beyond Dexter and Dee Dee’s quiet suburban neighborhood (and Dexter’s Laboratory itself); Dexter, Dee Dee, Mee Mee and Lee Lee journeys through a world where humans, other cartoon humans like them and dinosaurs and other Mesozoic Triassic, Jurassic, and/or Cretaceous prehistoric creatures live—in order to destroy Mandark and his minions in a great titanic Armageddon-style war/epic battle

>Aside from a few ordinary animals (dogs, cats, horses, modern birds, and apes and monkeys) as well as a few legendary creature (the dragon, the griffin, the troll, the goblin and the orc), other animals will be similar to Meoszoic Triassic, Jurassic, and/or Cretaceous prehistoric fauna (i.e., pterosaurs, marine reptiles and of course, dinosaurs)

>Seems to love Genndy Tartakovsky cartoons (particularly Dexter’s Lab and Samurai Jack), Lord of the Rings (with its Tolkien-style quest plot), James Cameron’s Avatar (with its gorgeous CGI and visuals), and Jurassic Park (with its dinosaur scenes) as well as the Dinotopia books (with its peaceful interaction with humans and dinosaurs)

>Will be basically and mainly Dexter’s Laboratory meets The Lord of the Rings

>In the planning and thinking stages so far

>Will have an epic, cinematic and ethnic music score (with traditional orchestra and ethnic musical instruments and/or vocals(?) from all over the world)

>Soundtrack will incorporate more sound elements (i.e., dialogue loops, sound effects elements, etc.) than any other movie in history

>Will be one of or if not the biggest, most ambitious movie project(s) ever undertaken (apart from The Lord of the Rings films (2001-2003) as well as James Cameron’s Titanic and Avatar (1997 and 2009, respectively)

Oh holy poo poo it's the goon who was obsessed with a background character from Dexter's lab who appeared for a sum total of 5 seconds in the entire series.

He had some website named Tim Box or whatever. His room was strewn with cut out car adds that he would scan into his computer and put Dexter's lab characters and dinosaurs on them for whatever reason.

Not to be too much of a goony computer chair psychologist, but to expand on something I said earlier, the body-switching thing seems to be tied with the general misogyny of the fantasy -- women are sexual objects, need to be barefoot and pregnant, and so on.

But there are no actual "women" characters in these stories (note that Harley Quinn and Halle Berry's minds are unaccounted for after the transfer, they might as well not have existed as independent consciousnesses). Nevertheless, to be a woman, and especially for a man to be forced to be a woman, is figured as being incredibly degrading. The ultimate humiliation is for the man-consciousness to begin to believe itself a woman.

So it's not just the body-switching itself that gets this artist off, but the gendered power dynamics that inhere in the way he presents the body-switching, and in a very roundabout way it's all kind of homoerotic.

I hate that I have the education to notice and articulate these things and the internet to show them to me.

No one is being eaten, forced to have a crystal IV, turning into deli meat, stuck in the wrong body, grotesquely muscular or fat, making GBS threads, pissing, or being abused. It's just a couple of cartoon children as teenagers, acting exactly like real teenagers. Rugrats had an actual spinoff that was pretty much the same thing. Honestly it's kinda cute, it reminds me of those "Calvin gives Hobbes to his daughter" comics. I'd post them but I'm on my phone.

I'm on the fence about those Arnold ones. Yes, they're awkward to read as all poo poo, but I can at least respect that the author is, for once, not creepy as poo poo. It's like they kind of wanted some characterization or some resolution beyond some of the final episodes of the show (God knows I wasn't happy how it ended when I was younger). It's still awkward and weird, but I'll say it's well-drawn and at least not as creepy as it could be.
