Also my suggestion was specifically because he bought a screwed up tablet for $150 and said he needed an SD card slot.

I love the thing.

This is all comparing it to the blurex case of course, which I thought was pretty perfect for what I wanted.

I appreciate having the numbers but I guess from playing with 7in tablets 22 square is not enough of a difference for me to not use a phone while 36 is. Personally I'm hopeful for a Nexus 9/10 for something like $299 that's just a new N7 scaled up a bit. The resolution still looks great scaled up and the processor seems to just fly. 4.7 vs 5 vs 7 is going to be very subjective and probably influenced by the size of your fingers. 10 vs 22 vs 36 sq inches mathmatical size may appear as 1 vs 1.2 vs 3 in perspective size in terms of usable screen size. edit: to some people I am probably going to end up as the owner of a Nexus 7 with it's primary purpose being a chart plotter for a sailboat, however if I didn't have that use case I would be happy waiting for a 5" Nexus 5 phone this fall. Has everyone with the N7 FHD tried the NFC on it yet? I found out that mine's dead today. I rarely use it and consider it a party trick more than anything else, but I'll be damned if I'm paying $300 for faulty hardware. Tried it with my GS3 and some random library books (NFC tags), nothing. Google's response is to factory reset, which I tried, and it's still dead. My only recourse it to either go through Amazon (who are awesome) or Asus, which I don't care to do. I just hope I don't end up with another with the same problem. Anyway, everyone else should try theirs to confirm it works before you're out of the return window for your various vendors you went through.

I would try it with a non-Samsung device first. I've had trouble sending stuff to a SG3 before from my Razr HD. There may not be anything wrong at all with the hardware in the N7, touchwiz just may not be recognizing stock android functionality.

The 8-9" form factor is awesome. The only problem is the HD+ is underpowered--which is okay for basic tasks, but even the UI can lag a bit sometimes. As much as I love the new N7 I wish they'd made it 8".

Just got my 32GB Nexus 7 2013  It was scheduled for delivery on Monday so it was a nice surprise getting it this morning!Which is the QI charger that people recommend? I bought from the USA and I'm in Australia so I need a different charger anyway and wireless sounds interesting.

This LG charger is very nice, though its big selling point of being cheap at the Verizon store doesn't apply in Australia. If the Tylt Vu and/or Synergy (edit: though it looks like Synergy's kickstarter is actually crashing and burning) turn out not to suck, I'm planning to pick up one of those and keep the LG for my next smartphone, because I miss having a charger that also acts as a stand. I woke up this morning to see my Nexus 7 (2013) in a reboot loop; I had to do a factory reset to get it to stop which sucked but I didn't lose anything important but that looked like it did the trick. Anyone know what the deal is? The only thing that happened when I would unlock the tablet (before it would end up crashing) was that it would pop up that Google Play Music crashed.

With the new N7 on the market almost no one should buy this until it's under $99. But if you use it for Netflix, Splashtop, Books, Comics and Videos you will get performance comparable to a non-screwed up Galaxy Nexus. It will hang pretty often but never for over a couple seconds. I'm willing to deal with it to have a 9in 1080p+ screen for under $130. I treat eletronics comparable to how much they cost so a $130 tablet I'm willing to be rough with while a tablet over $400 I'd have to treat with kid gloves. At least it has full frame rate while playing SD videos which is something my Pantech Element struggles to do. As always in the Android Tablet thread, buy a Nexus unless you have a specific purpose for deviating. I didn't want to spend the $399 for the N10 but wanted something larger than the N7 with a high resolution for remote desktop/comics reasons.

I know they're a bunch of whiny entitled warranty-scamming babies, but there might be something to it. Amazon has always treated me exceptionally well, and the return process is easy - they prepay shipping back to them (just drop off at a UPS sender), and they send you a new one, rather than a potential repair of the same unit.

My Portenzo Hardback case came today. It's pretty nice, feels like a book binding without the pages. They have some kind of 3M adhesive pads that hold the tablet into the binding. The pads seem pretty strong; it looks like it will take more than a casual amount of effort to pull it off. It has magnets to wake up the tablet when you open the book. So far I am pretty pleased.

I had two problems with my Nexus 7 today. Wifi would disconnect intermittently and I started getting phantom touches. I called Nexus support and they had me clear the cache which seemed to take care of the problem. Apparently it's a known issue with the last update and clearing the cache is supposed to fix it. The call took less than 10 minutes.

Can anyone recommend a good RDP app for tablets? I've tried like 7 now and they all have their ups and downs unfortunately. I'm using a Nexus 10. Some features I'm looking for: - FULL screen (aka hide the softkeys) - Fast/responsive - Support for bluetooth mouse + keyboard - Maybe some way to have windows automatically increase the DPI so buttons are clickable and text is readable on Nexus 10's obscene resolution.

What sort of options do I have for expanding my memory on the nexus 7? does an OTG dongle work okay? that's really my only complaint is the lack of an SD slot.  I actually originally wanted a memopad7 or a nook HD+ but this thread seems to be stomping the memopad and wary of the nook. Can the memopad hd7 play 720p mkv? what about the Nook HD+? 1080p? I'm upgrading from a gen1 nook color so pretty much anything is an insane improvement but I dont want to hamstring myself with something that's too weak to do the things I want, but also dont need a rocketship either. I dont really play games on my tablets, just reading, some movies and web browsing.  EDIT: just realized that's a shitload of questions. sorry! Content: Nook Color was the best tablet ever all the haters can deal with it.
