Does anyone else have a problem where you basically fire phantom bullets that don't hit anything?

I notice this very acutely with the Bronco. I have mine modded for pretty much max accuracy; I can headshot from across a map. I'll have guys lined up center mass, they're not moving, there's no obstructions, then I fire.

Nothing. I fire every round until I reload, no hits. Aimed dead on down the sights. Puffs of smoke coming off the guys even. I've fired 6 rounds at near point blank center mass into a group of 3 cops before and nothing. Gets super loving irritating.

Yeah, I get this with the Mosconi pretty often.

Also the whole spotting through walls thing seems to be an issue with the spotting mechanic taking place on the host or something. Host clearly saw a guard in the room with me who had not even entered on my end. So from now on we're just gonna let the host sneak...

If it's against the tan FBI agents, you need to hit them in the head or shoulders to score a hit.

I've noticed this a bit lately, especially trying to pick off snipers. I'll have my sights lined up perfect with a rifle and shoot, but no hits.

If you carry bags onto the helicopter they count. If you throw them in the escape chopper escape zone, they don't.

The cop upgrade in the last patch has helped a bit. I usually see shields in the first real wave which I didn't before, and I've gotten double bulldozers on wave 2. I've also gotten a fuckton of tasers on wave 2/3 but pfft, they still suck.

Technically, Ukraine jobs are still the best way to farm cards. If you take the 3 minutes to stealth it with lockpicking, you won't have an escape. If you take the 45 second route with C4, you run the risk of a 5 minute escape. You can still do the Ukraine/Club/Mall cycle if you are only interested in cards.

I don't know if heist difficulty affects the quality of the drops you get, but your odds of getting cash/items/masks is constantly random. If you get an item or mask card, Lucky Charm will give you a 50% improvement (300% aced) in quality.

Guys you can still beat Ukrainian Job in like 35-40 seconds without an escape, it's just a two man job now.

Mask up in the street in front of the coffee shop, where nobody can see you. As person 1 smashes through the front window, person 2 drops an ECM jammer. 1 heads to the back rooms to blow the safes, 2 controls the civs and bags up jewels, dropping the other jammer if necessary. I don't know if you need to answer pagers while the jammer is up, but we do just in case. As soon as you have the tiara, hightail it to the van with hopefully two or three bags of jewels. More people on the team just means more extra loot, and as long as you leave before the alarm sounds you won't have to do an escape. (This is why it's important you use the window, so the metal detector doesn't go off)

We've even had times where the alarm has sounded as we were getting back to the vehicle, and we still didn't have to escape, so as long as you are fast you may still get lucky.

Yeah, tasers still ain't poo poo mechanically, but the psychological impact is definitely there now: they have a really sinister VA and similarly-threatening lines. I like it a lot.

After the cop upgrade, we got rushed by four bulldozers in a row on Overkill Bank Heist. I can't remember whether we made it out of that one or not, but I'm gonna say we wiped because I'd likely have remembered it if we'd survived.

I've been playing with a few friends and we rarely get to play as a full group so I hopped in with goons on 3 occasions in the past week. Few missions each time. Good fun was had by all with some coordination.

I just tried playing with someone I know with 2 pubbies. We just failed a Fire Starter Very Hard because both the pubbies ran out of different side of the hangar trying to throw bags on the sides while the assault was at it's apex or something. The second mission was that Bank Heist : Gold or something on Overkill and 3 secs before the thermal drill pops the door, another set of pubbies run out the front entrance and get downed in the middle of the street and assault and then bitch in chat we didn't get them in time because we didn't check the chat box...

gently caress pubbies. They're worst than every failure scenario on my part I can think of (I don't know the optimal plans for all these missions yet) when I join up with goons.

Edit: One concession I will make to Bolow is that the Beretta is the perfect handgun to use on normal difficulty if you're playing on pubbies. If you put either of the damage increasing mods on it and you have the tech's headshot damage bonus you can one hit kill blue swat guys with a single well placed shot to the head. I've done entire matches with pubbies where I literally never switched to using my primary.

What in the gently caress is wrong with the difficulty scaling in this game?

I've ran like 5 overkill Watchdogs today since it's my favorite heist. All went extremely well and weren't too bad. Felt like the right mix of cops was spawning for each wave.

I just quit a "very hard" Watchdogs where Payday's director equivalent must have been Satan himself.

Here is what spawned in literally the 45-50 seconds after the instant I got the coke over the fence:

10 tasers
4 bulldozers
6 shields

I know, I counted. I dropped 4 tazers that came all in one group after I threw the last bag over the fence. 3 more came right after that. Then 3 more and a wave of 10 tan swat and 3 shields. 3 more shields came in from the side as we threw the coke towards the warehouse. I was nearly dumbstruck; I have never seen waves of cops this big.

We barely get the coke bucket brigaded into the warehouse, quad bulldozer rush. I ammo bag Mosconi spam 3 out of 4 down.

It was almost as if the game was angry at us for stomping a gigantic shitstorm of specials before they should even be showing up. The first wave of cops off the container ship were all tasers. Double bulldozer and 3 shields right after that and I determined either the game literally hated our loving guts or it was bugged. gently caress 10 minutes of that poo poo just for Very Hard. I quit.
