The living next to a frat house part, I mean, I haven't gone to a college with frat houses so I wasn't even aware that they made frat houses off of a campus.

They do, and they literally do rent out/buy actual houses for them. It's not a ridiculous premise that a frat house moves in next door.

muscles like this? posted:Here's something weird I heard from a coworker. He was at the movies and they played a trailer for The Fifth Estate (the Wikileaks movie.) He said people started shouting "traitor" at the screen. What I'm more confused about is the fact that people are shouting at a movie theatre. I've also often seen many Amerigoons talking about cheering and hooting and hollering at the movies, and I don't get it. Are people incapable of shutting the gently caress up at the movies? We generally don't get that sort of malarkey over here in NZ, so it's just completely alien and confusing to me.

It's totally okay during trailers, but I never experienced much talking during the actually movie here in Europe. Expect when me and a friend were literally the only people watching Transformers.

A guy once yelled at me for speaking during the adverts and when the film started he took out a bag of individually wrapped toffees. I will never forgive that man.

I always make sure that people shut the gently caress up during movies at our theater and have given that order to others too. This is Finland, so most of the time people are quiet, but it's easy to spot the group of teenagers who are shouting and laughing at nothing as loudly as possible. I usually let them have their fun during the commercials but if they don't shut up during the trailers I'll give them the look and if they are still shouting when the movie starts, they receive a warning. Usually that does it. If it's a kids' movie or a comedy or something crazy like the Jackass films etc. I don't mind since it's kind of part of it.

When my mom and I saw Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, someone took out their cell phone and began talking during the main character's death scene. Complete with the "Nah, I'm not busy, I'm at the movies." opener. There was also some movie my mom saw recently where a person's cell phone kept ringing, the person would look at it, not answer it, and let it keep ringing. This happened 6 or 7 times before my mom asked if she could help them put their phone on vibrate. I started exclusively going to theaters where they kick people out for cell phone use during the movie. It got absolutely horrible.

I wasn't even aware that they were remaking it. I'm getting a distinct PG-13 vibe from that trailer too, they make Alex Murphy's near-death a car explosion instead of a brutal execution? Come on. Don't even get me started on that suit, what the hell man. edit: http://collider.com/jose-padilha-robocop-remake-interview/ Bleh, it's PG-13. Take your nancy pancy Robocop de-make elsewhere. Robocop looks like tons of fun. I love the original, but I don't have that weird thing where I automatically hate any attempts at a remake. If it sucks it sucks, but that trailer looked good

I didn't see anything really wrong with the trailer at all. I doubt I'd see it in the theater, but that probably wasn't going to happen anyway. The suit itself looks good. Better than that clunky mess it used to be.

You're right, the trailer didn't do anything wrong, but it also didn't anything right either; which is a huge red flag when you consider the amount of money that gets invest in these types of movies.

Deadpool posted:The suit itself looks good. Better than that clunky mess it used to be. The first Robocop suit is literally one of the most iconic costumes in film history. Clunky was good for that film because the character wasn't agile, he was like a tank. Additionally, the big clunky made the movie more tragic - The cripple is crammed into this horrible, clanking robo-suit and is essentially stripped of all of his humanity, which he very slowly and painfully regains throughout the film. Sticking a dude in a very sleek and thin black suit isn't quite the same when you consider that angle. Not judging the film, it could be good, who knows, but dissing the original suit is blasphemy!

The problem with the RoboCop trailer for me is that I can't decide if it looks good or not. I mean, Sam Jackson, Michael Keaton and Gary Oldman all look like they'll be a lot of fun to watch, and the "Dead or alive, you're coming with me!" is delivered well, but I just don't know. And count me among those who like the old, blocky RoboCop suit.
