Play scout. You will appreciate the mobility, and get to learn a new style of play that compliments pyro and spy pretty well. A heavy focus on getting in close to your enemies while learning the flank routes and making picks, which you can enter transfer into a pyro for team support or a spy for behind-enemy-lines picks and sentry busting.

Scout is a fantastic stepping stone to other classes, I used to be All Soldier All The Time and then played scout for the better part of a summer. After that I played pyro near constantly because it let me be a slow scout with a flamethrower and still practice projectile aiming with a flaregun

In this vein of Scout being incredibly educational in other classes: I'm trying to pick up Pyro, and the eerie thing about Degreaser/Flaregun/Powerjack (highly reccomended) is that you play it like a Scout. I still can't reflect to save my life, but I still managed some topscoring; it's just the Scout! Treat ''Degreaser into flare (into Powerjack if the heavy is turned around, or back to flames otherwise), and you can get some pretty impressive work against Heavies. It's still the Heavy's fight to lose, but you can pretty easily put the first 120+burn on them from range, use the mobility to close the distance with a flank, repeat, and if they're still up, powerjack them. Even if you're in the worst case scenario where the heavy is spinning up and on you you can still sometimes disorient them by circling them and with airblasts to keep their aim off. Which is almost exactly like how you engage them as Scout. Several other classes are the same; you engage Scouts by getting one good hit in on them up close, then pursue (with a flare). You deal with Demomen by forcing yourself into their face and leaving them unable to risk using a projectile. You deal with Sentries by not dealing with sentries very well at all. And although I can't reflect, the airblast functions exactly like some wonderful combination of FoN pushback and the Mad Milk's fire negation (with the Powerjack covering the self healing), all rolled into one package.

It's kind of like a greatest hits package for Scout in exchange for being pretty close to useless against other Pyros, and ironically not that great against good Scouts which can dodge flares.

The biggest difference is that instead of projecting your rather squishy body to pursue, you project flares, which are much safer. This means you can do silly things like pick the Heavy's pocket any time he's on fire, as long as there's any line of sight, and twoshot 125-175 classes from across the map (granted, in many cases that relies on after-burn, which is far from reliable). I only started playing it this week, and I'm already one behind my all time Scout best in both points and kills.

I actually really enjoy playing chubscout by just using the power jack and stock shotgun with the degreaser, too. It lets you pop reflects and swap weapons quickly while using your shotgun. Nothing feels better than shotgun dueling a cocky scout and then tagging him with afterburn right after a 90 damage meatshot :getin:

I've not actually been able to do expert because it's literally impossible to join a pickup game without being kicked for not having done expert. Which you can only remedy by having done expert...

I would really like to see new paints that are perhaps more expensive, but get stored onto whatever item you use them on.

That way you can switch out colors on your items via a drop down menu provided you painted that item that color before.

I have multiple versions of certain items painted different colors because my gentlemann barbie dolls demand it and it's taking up somewhat valuable backpack space.

I've noticed my game's been having a weird trend of crashing lately. I'll join a server and hop into spectate, things will run fine for a bit and then the screen will just freeze and the sound will loop over and over until it quits to the desktop. I wait a bit or pull up task manager if needs be, then boot the game back up and retry the server. I'll be able to get on and pick a team okay, only I'm suddenly unable to connect to the item server, so I end up having to close the game down and then reopen it again. After that it usually works fine, but it's getting annoying having to restart my game 3 times until I can actually get it to work. :saddowns:

Pubbies really do not know how to deal with the fists of steel. One pyro airblasted me away, which was a sound thing to do. But then he turned around and tried to run away, and I caught up to him as he tried to navigate around a corner. If he'd set me on fire and then hit me with an axtinguisher I would have died in a single blow. Same goes for a sniper hitting me with piss and then hitting me with the bushwacka. A couple of spies tried to get me, but they were incredibly obvious about. I usually play scout so spies don't usually pay all that much attention to me unless it's a backstab capitalizing on my own stupidity, or they're shooting me. But playing heavy, they make a goddamn beeline for you.

I admit I did pull out my minigun occasionally, mostly to deal with sentries and 3 players ganging up on me. And a spy who was getting away with the intelligence, but that was after punching him once.

Edit: It occurs to me that playing fist heavy has made me way better at regular heavy. Your average heavy will just blunder straight for the enemy base, invariably getting killed over and over again if some of the enemy team is halfway competent. Fists heavy has taught me the value of taking lesser used routes as a heavy and surprising people. A fist heavy popping up behind you can cause serious damage, but a heavy who actually uses his minigun can shred the lot of you.

I know a lot of people like to make their loadouts completely wacky, but I mostly like to go for looks that seem (at least to me) arguably reasonable and cohesive together, while still looking vaguely like they'd belong in some sort of alternate-reality TF2 universe only marginally more silly than the current one. Except for soldier, of course. Because he's a loving goofball.

We have:
- Falcon Punch Sniper
- Diesel Dragon Pyro
- Contra Heavy (classic NES Contra only, of course)
- Kaneda Scout (TETSUOOOOO!)
- Rockabilly Engineer
- Awkward Late 30's Mall-goth Spy
- Demomoto, the Shogun of Explodun'

- Alpine Adventure Medic
