And I know it's my right and proper paypal account because I tried logging in from the vanilla site and it worked.

It could be because your credit card company is freaking out because of the "gaming" in Green Man Gaming. Apparently that sets off a bunch of alarm bells because of gambling websites use the word a lot. I wouldn't have thought that would affect PayPal as well though.
