I'd like to just say gently caress DJ Mathematics for stealing my money I pre-ordered that lovely album on CD from his Bandcamp page way back in May when it was supposed to come out, then they never loving sent the CD after they kept delaying it and delaying it over and over. I paid shipping charges and everything. PayPal said it was too late to dispute, too. Fuckin scumbags.

So Cage...his album is really good. As has been mentioned, it's extremely dark and bitter, but it's also well-made. Ballad of Worms would've fit right in on here. Even removing the "festival songs" it makes Old look downright cheerful. I can also see how people would be turned off from it since it's fairly one-note (even if that note has a bunch of variations), but for anyone who enjoyed either his early stuff, or the more introspective/personal Danny Brown songs, or Skelethon, etc I'd really recommend it.

Reminds me sort of of mobb deep for some reason? Production is a lot lighter and there's more wordplay though Here's prob my favorite song off the tape with a killer verse from another guy I've never heard of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmhNAykKxjM

My only problem with it is that Cage seemed to have really phoned it in with, at least, his rhyme schemes. I dig the really understated and mellow vibes in pretty much every song, but to have the same really basic rhyme structure in every song was a little grating. That said, I kept probably 75% of the album on my phone so that's decent.
