I can't believe how this season, so far, has managed to breathe life into the zombie genre and make zombies the main threat. Okay, the virus was the main threat, but the fact that its end result was zombification counted. The main point was that you didn't have a main internal conflict that was based on completely irrational decisions by the main characters. The virus and zombies at the gates acting as a doomsday clock, especially when we didn't know which time would run out first, the mad dash for supplies, etc. The only way to make zombies threatening in the Walking Dead universe is to handicap the main characters by making them focus on something else, and put a "zombie spawner" in their base. There were no irrational decisions made by characters we grow to hate due to lovely writing. But the governor is back as per that last scene, so I don't hold out much hope the show can continue its hot streak past this arc.

I like the governor a lot but I was hoping they would wait at least a full season or more before they brought him back. The Joker is Batmans best enemy but you can't have him fight the joker in every single comic. Best used sparingly. Not because he sucks, but because he's soo effective and cool. Encounter and beat the joke too often and the joker loses his cool factor and becomes less of a threat and more of a joke.

I feel like the Governor would have just moved on and gone on to coldly take over some other survivor settlement and rule it with an iron fist at this point. I thought they'd encounter him after leaving the prison. Instead he's like weirdly hanging out around the prison or something like a creep in a van. Way too Snidely Whiplash.

You know after watching this episode I'm pretty sure Herschel could kill the governor single handed. It might not be a straight up physical fight but Herschel is cunning and displayed lateral thinking while basically taking walkers out on his own and managing to save most of the sick ward. Not a man to be trifled with. Also nice to see that Rick and Carl murder machine go beast mode this episode. Speaking of the governor I am looking forward to seeing what the new regime will do with his character.

Man, I've never really dug this show that much. It gets on my nerves and the characters are pretty dull, I only watched it in hopes it would get better. That happened tonight. Holy gently caress. This season was showing promise, but I wasn't sure if it would live up to it. I'm sure now. That was fantastic television. They upped the characters to a level they never would have before, they gave actual real tension during those scenes, and made the scenes pretty drat spooky looking. I would say this episode was the best episode, visually. Hands down. It did actually creep me out in a few places, which was pretty much impossible before tonight. Hershel is such a great character. I'm glad he's still around. "I am." Hated the Governor ending. I hate that character in general. Boring one dimensional cartoon. But since this season is so drat good so far, perhaps even a character like that can be threatening and interesting. You did it show, you made me excited for the next episode. Don't gently caress it up now!

There isnt much that 'ol Guv and his two dudes can do from the outside except subversive poo poo like maybe poison their water supply. If they encountered any bloody-eyed zombies out in the wilds maybe they figured out theres something else going on and wouldnt wanna get in there anyways. I'm curious to see where they go with it.

I think the Governor will just try to sabotage the prison and let the zombies do most of the work for him. I think the prison will get wrecked in this half of the season, and next half will see them on the run getting tracked by the governor.

Missed the initial broadcast and catching the repeat. Holy poo poo, this is a really good episode. Loving it. Just got to them tubing Glen and drat Carl and Rick going loving crazy on the Zombie horde was bad rear end. That little girl is loving psycho. Carl is kind of a straight up bad rear end. I know that we are all waiting for some epic story driven payoff with the Governor...but I think the best thing would be for him to come in, threaten the gang, make an epic speech, only to be ended with BANG! That was the single worst episode of the Walking Dead I've ever seen. All stupid melodrama, characters doing stupid poo poo (oh no, not ANOTHER open cell door!) dumb poo poo happening for no reason (the fence beams, oh no we used rotten wood!) bad music, and now I'm guessing we get another 8 episodes with the governor doing annoying poo poo.

So I noticed in the preview that when Michonne is running her finger along a map, she stops and points at Macon. That's the town the Walking Dead game (the good one) takes place in. Is that just a nod to the game, or is it from the comic too?
