It's so weird hearing these guys with their real accent. Rick was a complete mindfuck, but Gov is close.

Yeah, David Morrissey and the guest were like " Yea he is redeeming himself " and Chris Hardwick shut it down by quickly rattling off everything the governor has done. It was pretty great.

I'd love for this to go some place where the governor tries to get into the prison with his new family peacefully. Can you just see the conversation where they had JUST kicked Carol out to let the Governor in?

I'm gonna have to rewatch. Caught the beginning, had to step away and felt good about it because gently caress flashback episodes but this sounds interesting.

Its nerdy as hell that I know this but the song that played at the beginning of the episode (last pale light in the west by ben nichols) is from a Blood Meridian tribute album. It was kinda weird to hear it during the episode but also cool. Oh and the episode was great I thought, the guy who plays the governor is a good actor and ill watch him over rick any day.

I thought it was a solid episode that did a good job with a difficult task - humanizing a character that is probably too far gone. I respect that they tried and it was a valiant shot but everything has its limits. I don't think it was a full on "love and forgive the governor" story, though. He acknowledges that he "lost it" when talking about himself in the third person. He spent the entire episode trying to run from it and briefly got a taste of a second chance. But stumbling back in with Martinez by the end of the episode is as good enough of a sign of "yeah, you didn't get away" as they could have given. So I doubt the show wants us to forgive him, they just showed him trying to move on. And now he's back where he started.

That episode was loving awesome. Normally I don't give a poo poo about redshirt episodes but Kurt Russell Governor was so awesome that the whole thing turned out to be pretty compelling. I'd gladly watch another episode of him leading his new family. Hopefully the season keeps up the pace because this episode ruled and so did the last one, so hopefully that'll last for the remainder of the season.

That was pretty great. Also I loved how they leveraged the Governor's erratic last-season writing to create insanely tense scenes. And was that the same child actress in the Penny photograph? Or did they find another kid that looks like her?

I'm really confused about the timeline of what happened this episode. Did he burn Woodbury right before he showed up at the prison or right after everyone abandoned it last season? I'm assuming his cronies left him not long after the end of season 3, he wanders around and finds the family, his cronies' new group finds him, more stuff happens, then we catch up up to the present with him standing outside the prison?

I would rather watch a show centered around this guy, if I'm being honest. He's a completely irredeemable shitbag, but there's one thing in the world that he cares about and it alllllllmost makes him resemble a functioning human being. Waiting for the monster to show back up creates some awesome tension.

The Governor is a brutal zombie killing machine. I tend to hate trying to call things on TV-shows, but I expect the Governor will betray martinez's crew to Rick. The redemption arc will be a long con till the end of the season.

Man the Governor went totally berserk in that pit, holy poo poo. I liked this episode, added some character to Gov which was much needed, and I mean really he only killed Andrea and that doctor guy, as well as a bunch of Woodbury citizens. If anything he did us a favour. I wonder what lengths he will go to to keep his past hidden, or if it will be possible.

I didn't get any lesbian vibes She kept asking the Governor to pound it after all He just didn't get the message

I thought it was pretty clear the cop was a lesbian and the other one wasn't. Also this episode was really good, the prison and squinty eyed angry beard drama was getting tired.

Looking at that gif, I guess they wanted it to appear like her bag is so heavy that her swinging around quickly threw her off balance? Just looked incredibly silly to me. Anyhow, was absolutely dreading an entire episode of the Governor, but it was alright by the end. He looked ridiculous in that shot of him standing in front of a burning building in Woodbury though. My prediction is they'll spend these episodes trying to humanize and redeem the Guv only to have him violently and mercilessly gunned down the instant Rick and the gang see him.

It was pretty clear she was a lesbian, since she was talking about some girl. Before she trips you can see one shoe came untied, that's what I figured she fell from but maybe the bag was to heavy too. Ahhh Real Zombies! fucked around with this message at 07:50 on Nov 18, 2013 |

Dr Zaius posted:Looking at that gif, I guess they wanted it to appear like her bag is so heavy that her swinging around quickly threw her off balance? I think that's the idea, but if you're carrying a heavy pack that is capable of throwing you off balance (they can) you'll probably use both shoulder straps pretty quickly since five minutes without them both is pretty uncomfortable. Realism isn't really this show's thing though, it's probably not worth talking about it much. Still as someone who backpacks ten hour days with a 50 pound pack regularly it made me chuckle.
