Anybody who wants to grind out the dumb friendly match chievos should shoot me an invite at TheButtpipe ingame. I'm playing super poorly with some new decks so I'm not really having much fun at the moment. Edit: Out for tonight, four straight Ishuma decks and I manage to win two but I'd rather have a nail driven through my dick than risk playing against that again. I didn't make the picture, so it's not as up-to-date as the bullet points. So for the advice on how to spend currency, go with the bullet points. Also, if you're gonna drop money, buy the Steam Champ Pack. The OP gives a brief description of the different factions and schools that's relatively accurate. Use mmodocking.com to look up cards and decks. You can look at all the cards of a specific magic school there, or faction, etc. One thing that's important about this game, which enforces tactical combat, is that there are very few cards that deal damage to other players. This means that you're relying on your creatures to do damage, or some mill system or weird combo (such as when the player discards a card that player takes damage).

Thank you for the update. So, creatures are very important, then. How do Haven play well with such low power creatures? I've won every duel so far, mainly because people are utterly terrible at low elo, but I imagine I will start playing better players soon and I hope to have some way to deal with them. The comeback mechanics and board control of Haven seem good - should I work toward developing these, with more Heals and spells that deal damage to all enemy creatures? Also jesus god in heaven why are there so many inferno decks.

Darth Windu posted:So are there any resource denial strategies? I actually got Sandalphon in the first void pack I bought (non premium), so that is nice. Thank you for the update. Haven wins by getting resources quickly and overwhelming the opponent with creatures that protect each other and dropping I think its called Wolf captains. They get +1 attack for every adjacent creature. Inferno is really good at early ELO, but it loses its power at higher ELO unless you turn it into a control variant.

The arguably best deck before the 5T expansion was Cassandra Fortune, a deck that plays resource denial cards. http://tools.mmdocking.com/decks/show/869 This is the base of the deck.

I just started and am using a Haven deck to kick things off. I like Haven quite a bit. Anyways, I'm almost at 1200 seals! What box do I buy? There's so many different booster boxes! What's the right choice here?

I'm saving for the box that costs 3000. E: My fav part of this game is there is no word filter on deck names. Chuglord Bonermagic is the best deck.

I'm 25 away from the Five Towers box, I was thinking about waiting for that one. I like me some wild cards. I've been buying the Herald of the Void packs, but aside from a Haven hero and a Wolf Marksman, haven't gotten anything I really care about. I got a hologram card though, haha, whatever the gently caress that is. Is the Champion Box worth it if I am buying tons of Herald packs anyway, or should I blow my seals on the Five Towers box? I feel like i'll probably have all the void cards by the time I save up enough seals for the Champ one.

The key thing is to first unlock the cards in the Alter. Usually wait for a deal or save up for a champion's box because you want the most bang for your buck because seals are valuable.

However, since it's the set that Sanctuary comes from almost all the cards in those boxes are for them. Which sucks but oh well.

Hey dudes, just started playing this game a couple of days ago (Uplay name is Arrrthritis) and it's been a blast playing Necropolis. I feel like i'm absolute poo poo when it comes to building a deck, though. Are there any guides out there for the absolute basics on how to deck build for this game? Any particular spells I should be looking for when playing Necropolis? I kind of want to get a spooky ghosts deck going where I have a ridiculous frontline of beefy ghosts and kind of turn every battle into a war of attrition, but I dunno how viable that is.

So I updated the OP. Highlights: -Added info in the buying with gold and seals section -Added info in the buying with WC section -Added tip against fighting lock decks My long-term goal is to have the OP contain enough relevant info, so when someone asks a common question, the answer can simply be "Read the OP." I'd also like to thank everyone that's provided helpful info and contributed to helping us all learn more about this game. Like most people here, I'm new and diving right in. People that come to mind: Josh, Tae, Jedit, ApplesandOranges, Bussamove, TaoJones, etc. Dahbadu fucked around with this message at 20:27 on Dec 8, 2013 |

I feel like i'm absolute poo poo when it comes to building a deck, though. Are there any guides out there for the absolute basics on how to deck build for this game? Any particular spells I should be looking for when playing Necropolis? Necro is good for slow grinding decks in general. They're best for spot removal and can branch into mass damage spells. Soul Reaver is basically Magic's Murder so stocking up on those is generally a good idea. I find Puppet Master is particularly useful as well for using enemy fatties against them if only for temporary reasons since most of the time your opponent will panic and blow all their removal on the creature you stole. Death Seal is a decent removal for the early game. Seria gives you access to Strength of the Sea which fucks with fortune decks, plus access to water's battlefield stalling spells. Ariana gives you access to ground magic which gives access to battlefield wide attack spells and army regeneration. Malik gives you access to fire which includes line and aoe attack spells and more spot removal. Most Necro heros get access to Primal which includes battlefield manipulation and counter-spells. Fleshbane gives incorporeal things a small health boost, but only has access to Dark spells. Here's my current Adriana deck. It gets to 1000 EOL easy enough. But I'm getting bored of it so I'm trying other deck types. Ariana of the Severed Fates - 6-6-0 Events: 8 4x Week of Taxes 3x Blind Arbiters 1X Graduation Day Creatures: 33 4x Wretched Ghoul 3x Neophyte Lich 4x Lamasu 3x Vampire Knight 3x Plague Ghoul 3x Untamed Wraith 1x Undead Minotaur 2x Fate Spinner 2x Arch Lich 2x Soul-Consuming Lich 4x Decay Spitter 1x Atropos, Weaver of the Dead 1x Damran, the Tainted Spells: 17 2x Mass Regeneration - All friendly creatures get +1 Regeneration 2x Death Seal - Next combat damage kills target creature regardless of health 4x Soul Reaver - Kills target creature regardless of health 2x Shadow Image - Creates a copy of target creature that dies on first hit, but comes onto the field with quick attack 1x Silent Death - Kills target creature at the start of your next turn then returns to you hand 4x Puppet Master - Takes control of target creature as long as you have a valid place to put it on your side 2x Curse of the Netherworld - Does 3 damage to all enemy creatures and heals your creatures for 3. Buildings: 1 1x Tower of the Gardener If the mood strikes me, I'll sometimes take Death Seal out, drop a Shadow Image, and replace them with 3x Insect Swarms.

The spells Weakness, Moonsilk Fetters, and Wither(from 5 Tower pack) cripple the enemy creatures so they can do even less damage when attacking and retaliating, they are really effective vs melee Inferno and Stronghold. The event Hailstorm is also great since ghosts take zero damage from it. As long as you have 4 Decay Spitters, a couple Banshees and Atropos cards you should be golden. IGN is Nefestus if anyone wants to get the friends achievements or just duel.
