Hobojim posted:For my Haven deck using Cassandra, I built around the Eleanore, the Voice of Harmony. I have three ways to tutor her up if needed, and she seems pretty hard to deal with aside from Lightning Bolt or something. I also have a couple of ways to bring her back from the graveyard. I've only played with the deck twice, but it's decently creature-light with controlling spells. What are some good Haven control staples? Good Haven staples include Wolf Captains and more Wolf Captains. An Eleanore deck would usually want tough creatures that she can heal turn after turn, so things like Glories and Crusader Commanders. Immaculate Glories are a bit more of a riskier drop, but they can't be taken out with Soulreaver, so they're a decent shield for her. Anael is also a nice card. What Hero are you using with Stronghold? I'm presuming Kat since she's the most common one for most starting Stronghold decks, and you'd readjust accordingly if you were using Shaar or Kelthor. You have to decide which way you want to focus on with Stronghold really. An Enrage deck would like Blackskull Warchanters (a Common from Void Rising). Swift decks want more offense power so they can make the most of their mobility. Blackskull Vulture Riders are generally useful and Tainted Orcs are always handy. If you're insistent on using Swift you might want to look at Zeliria (an Epic from Forgotten Wars) or look at the Zardoc Hero, but he's an expensive deck to build.

In the ad for it in the Shop, it just shows boxes for Five Towers, Forgotten Wars, Herald of the Void, and Void Rising. If it turns out that the bonus is just for the individual set boxes rather than the 3K Champion box, what do people suggest I spend my 2000 seals on?

Oh man, I just spent 2800 seals the last couple days... such regret, and didn't really get many cards I want form the boxes either. Are the Forgotten Wars cards going to cost less Wild Cards now that the new expansion is out? Still seeing them as 3 times and I want my Forked Lightnings.

For those that need to contact support: https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/AskQuestion.aspx You'll need to "ask a question," select PC as the platform, then MMDOC as the game. Later tonight I'm going to submit at ticket regarding asking for retroactive WC due to their 50% bonus deal they just came out with.

Finally blew some WCs on an Adar Malik and put that deck together. Even through I only have 1 Banshee and 2 Fireballs, it's still absolutely destroying the creature based matches. But it's pretty slow on RL time to win each game. I should be unlocking VR in the alter, Crag Hack from game wins and getting enough seals for a 5T box all in the next day. That will set me up with the cards and WCs to build Ishuma and Crag at about the same time. Not quite Level 35, playing for a month and being able to put together a few T1 decks without spending anything feels pretty good.

Is there a reason my normal ranked matches are all suddenly way above my elo? I'm around 800 and I just faced two 1100+ people in a row. (and why do they keep surrendering before I can land the killing blow? )

It kind of takes the fun out of winning a little. Edit: Including some guy who quit after I hit him once. For 2 damage. Granted I had just killed all of his creatures, but still. I didn't know what happened because it just popped up with a couple of achievements, then said I won. Need some ideas on where to go with my deck, I am sitting between 700-800 on any given day. Have FW, base set and HV unlocked, and kind of working on VR right now. Biggest problem is that I pretty much am out of WC's, I don't mind spending money, but I would rather do it on a weekly special or something. Hero: Seria Events: 4x Week of Taxes 2x Rise of Nethermancer 2x Celebrations Creatures: 31 4x Wretched Ghoul 2x Magic Peddler 2x Neophyte Lych 2x Hangman Tree 3x Pao Deathseeker 4x Plague Zombie 4x Untamed Wraith 3x Archlich 2x Dark Wood Hermit 3x Decay Spitter 1x Atropos Spells: 19 2x Weakness 4x Geyser 2x Death Seal 2x Cursed Chains 2x Cursed Bound 3x Soul Reaver 2x Shadow Image 1x The Silent Death 1x Strength of the Sea Already thinking I might need to drop two Week of Taxes for 2 more Rise of Nethermancer. I get completely murdered by creature rush and mill decks. Any ideas?

The first things is figure out what the hell you're trying to do. You're playing 1 drops like you want to be aggro, but you're also playing Hangman Tree like you want to be in a control role. The Plague Zombie + Deepwoods "combo" has you playing two creatures that are just worse than your other options. 3 drops of Vampire Knight, Lamasu and Skeleton Archer interact better overall. And the 4 drops of Plague Spitter, Soul-Consuming Lich, and Archlich are all beasts. If you want to play the aggro role, you'll probably want to play DAs while dropping the less aggro oriented cards, like the conditional and crappy removal. And playing about 6 total 4 drop creatures. For a more control build, cut the 1 drops, play more 3 drops that can trade or beat the inferno beaters, play the three 4-drops I listed above in some combination. For any version, cut Celebrations and play 4 Neophyte Liches. (And 4 Plague Spitters)

Also consider switching heroes up if you have them. I don't care for Seria's spell selection, whereas other heroes have access to better schools. Ariana has earth which is great for anti-rush because of Earthquake and Insect Swarm, Adar-Malik has fire which is great all around. Definitely get to 4 decay spitters, and get some soul-consuming liches because they're great. Four Soul Reavers also helps, and Void Ripple is nice for all-around removal although I only run one along with a Curse of the Netherworld. Puppet Master is great for most every Necro hero that can run it as well. E: I also run 4 Shadow Image because they essentially turn into Paos 5-8 bit I might cut that down to 2. Wish there was some way to post your entire card collection online. In any case, I'm going to swallow my pride and post my Sandalphon deck. It got me to nearly 1000 ELO then I faced a series of humiliating defeats to various decks and really, really poor draws (something like 5 games in a row where I couldn't get a Tithe Collector with a mulligan and I never drew my board clear combo) and now I'm back at 500 ELO. Any advice would be appreciated, I'm not sure where to go with it. My thought was to put in tougher, stallier creatures like Darkwood tree guys. Monsoon is obviously one of the first things to go when I get something better, and I'm not 100% on the Immaculate Glories, though they have been incredibly helpful anchor units in games against the counter-based undead decks. I'd put in more Week of Taxes if I had them. Generally, if you see less than the max of a really good card like the Dark Assassin or Warrior Seraph, just assume I don't have any more. I've used most of my wild cards on the Light unique spell, the Water unique spell, and the single Dark Assassin there. I think I only have 3 left at this point. I feel like I just need stronger creatures in general to crank this deck up a notch. When it works, it works beautifully - I went on a 15-win streak right before my massive downturn, and I placed third in a swiss today. Sandalphon, Lord of Power 1x Week of Taxes 2x Week of Knowledge (has helped in my recent, numerous terrible first turn draws) 1x Market of Shadows 2x Week of Training 1x Day of the Fallen Wolf 1x Market of Wonders 3x Tithe Collector 1x Dark Assassin 1x Wandering Bard 1x Helexian Librarian 2x Magic Peddler 1x Loyal Griffin 2x Holy Praetorian 3x Crusader Watchman 1x Pao Deathseeker 4x Radiant Glory 3x Wolf Marksman 1x Griffin Battle Priest 1x Warrior Seraph 1x Vestal 1x Wolf Praetorian 1x Angel of Mercy (not sure I like) 2x Chosen of Elrath (thinking of putting in more of these) 1x Eleonore, Voice of Harmony 2x Immaculate Glory 1x Scattershot Marksman (love this guy) 1x Blazing Glory 2x Ice Shell 1x Monsoon 1x Lightning Speed 1x Geyser 2x Lightning Strike 2x Ice Splinters 3x Lightning Bolt 1x Song of the Lost 2x Revised Tactics 1x Altar of Wishes

Dahbadu posted:After testing my Inferno homebrew against Mecha's Adar last night, I'm running 12 hate cards in my deck specifically against Adar (well, 5 against graveyard recursion and 6 against single-target), not counting my 4 discard solutions. When I ran into Adar in ranked after testing, I almost won both games, but he just always seemed to top-deck a solution to keep himself alive and win. Or I got unlucky with my Events. I don't know if Adar is OP so much as there is more aggro in the meta than Mill and Discard, and Adar just has an answer to everything that an aggro wants to throw at him. When I play Adar there always seems to be the removal I need or some cheap wall creature that will stall until I get it. I have a Dhamiria too and Adar seems to be easier to play and outclass it.

I met my first 1001+ ELO Adar last evening, and just barely managed to squeak out a win with my Gazal control deck. The game ended with with me at 1 health, 4 cards left in the library, and me killing him by stealing a Decay Spitter with his own Puppet Master, and taking triple turns via Time Jump. I like this game.

My starter deck is necropolis so trying to make that deck better. I have two epics 'Atropos, Weaver of the Dead' which is nice and 'Namtaru Channeler' which I'm not playing because of the high magic requirement (and lack of ongoing spells). So what cards would you recommend spending wildcard tokens on? Those useful uncommons you mention above (I have a few but not full sets)? More rare cards? And if I want to make a sanctuary or haven deck, how should I get the correct hero? Buy one of those decks for gold? also ingame name is lobo_ie if anyone wants to add me

# ? Dec 11, 2013 12:53 |

The general idea is to spend wildcards on rares and epics. If you really want to use them on uncommons, nothing stopping you. For Sanctuary, Void Rising packs are your best bet, since you'll get lots of other cards in the meantime and there are no other Heroes from other Factions. For Haven, there are more of them in the Base set. You can buy Heroic packs for a 1/4 chance of getting a Haven Hero, or Reinforcement packs, which have a lower chance but you'll get 4 more cards.

The people who actually have decks worthy of 1000+ won't ever go lower, but if your deck is just barely decent enough to win 1/10 games at 1000 then you're stuck there forever winning 10% of your games.
