So I just came back after a month long break or so, installed on a new SSD with Windows 8. It seems to run much much better, but is the hit registration fixed? I haven't played in so long that I can't remember what I should be looking for.

I'm a noob but it still feels like poo poo. Multiple times per game I'll get into a firefight with someone in the open, run to cover, then get killed AFTER I'm behind some boxes or a wall. I just kinda assumed like 1/3 of the players were hacking but after watching a few videos on YouTube nope, it's just trash netcode.

Everyone remember how the elevator to the roof on Shanghai dom was a death trap of C4 and claymores? Well, one thing they did was make it delete any claymores/C4 in the elevator when it goes to the top, but apparently another thing they did was make grenades go through the floor in a huge area around the elevator while it's active.

I think ive fallen in love with the SKS... 3.4x scope, Laser, foregrip, Heavy Barrel. Its hugely fun hearing the pubie snipers whinge when you headshot them with it, but still be able to gently caress up someone firing from the hip close quarters.

They're cool at first but I still feel like the passive ones end up working out better in the long run assuming you're good with the main gun. edit: ^^^ friendly ammo boxes and stuff gets destroyed by friendly fire so the C4 might detonate slams. Only one way to find out, I guess.

I've gained a new appreciation for slams this weekend having never used them much previously. Defending the island point C on Lancing drat with them against fully loaded BTR-90's by dropping them where they're likely to come ashore is pretty fun. Only problem is I feel like a dick when I can't repair vehicles I'm riding along in as an engineer.

Apparently a great way to grind engineer unlocks is to play Hainan Resort against some people that get so mad about getting shot from the rooftop with the MBT LAW a few times that they decide to do nothing but rage in chat and spend the rest of the game dying in the elevator. I think I got 30 kills from blowing up people in the elevator by the end of it and died twice. Also unlocked the UMP-45 and dear God is the MX4 bad compared to that thing. Man people get pissed when you go 30-0 in the MAA and hold down two points by yourself. Greatest was the guy chasing me in an IFV that wasn't paying attention when I jumped out, SLAM'd the road then scooted round the corner. I never would have known how much fun SLAMs are without this thread

They actually did add some more corridors of doom for the Rush variant... but they blocked them off for Conquest. God forbid they should recognize their own lovely map design and attempt to loving fix it... Also, this post remains surprisingly apt for snipers in BF4.
