But he's not making deals, he runs that settlement thing, he's actively choosing to gently caress his brothers and sisters to get some extra pelts. It's not some grand commentary on how lovely the white man deals were, it's Conner being terrible and no one really acknowledges it.

RoadCrewWorker posted:Was that a deliberate restriction on your part? Usually people are 50+ when they beat O&S. Not really? I just didn't level up a lot and put much more points into leveling up multiple sets of gear. It was my first time playing through it, and I did it with very little help. I think I beat O+S at level 30. It took a few times.

Since he did the DLC first and rescued him, he should get the alternate cutscene at the start.

Patrick's an rear end in a top hat. because Sif is one of the saddest characters of Dark Souls and that was some uncalled for taunting there at the end Someone should show these guys all of VaatiVidya's lore videos sometime.

This is making me want to go back to Dark Souls. I beat it long before the Artorias stuff was released, but I got the PC version recently. Such a good game.

I spent a lot of time looking up the levels people were at, because the first time I played the game I wanted to be summoned by other people a bunch and the connections between players weren't working well. People usually end up finishing close to their 80's.

cronox2 posted:Someone should show these guys all of VaatiVidya's lore videos sometime. EpicNameBro's are fantastic as well. I always knew about the 'story in item descriptions' stuff, but for whatever reason the first time I played the game I figured that stuff would be like 90% bullshit fan speculation. I never realized how much concrete lore is in the game until I watched an ENB video about it and saw how much stuff in the game actually fits together to form a really cool, cohesive picture while still leaving a bunch of stuff up in the air to speculate about. Forgot who said it or where I saw it, but someone described Dark Souls as the best story never told once, and I have to agree. You can go down a nice, deep lore hole once you start looking into what the deal is with all the bosses/characters that you fight/meet.

He should have been through here a while ago, it's no surprise. The Demon Ruins will be even easier I imagine, though I'm looking forward to his reaction to the enemies there.

Who buys strategy guides anyway, grandmas who've never heard of a wiki? Or the people copying stuff into a wiki? I don't have a problem avoiding Dark Souls 2 online info (unless people go 'Patches Dies On Page 2932' drive-by spoiler which i can't imagine) but i think i'll skip a few bombcasts if they jump into the game before i get my hands on it, just in case Brad is his usual self.

Patrick is definitely overleveled, but the ghosts in New Londo are designed to be really tough if you try to clear them early or fairly easy if you try to clear them when you can actually access the boss. If you've beaten Ornstein and Smough then you're supposed to be killing them all in 1-2 hits, unless your weapon is particularly small.

I got the Dark Souls strategy guide when the game came out - the hardcover one. It is one great strategy guide. I never used it on my first through, though. But it is filled with lots of info on the game. The upgrade charts are especially useful once you commit to upgrading a weapon to maximum. Are they going to patch Dark Souls to remove the GFWL once it goes down? I've been thinking about trying out the PC version before the second game comes out.
