The face of true terror.
I feel like i'm not getting that many new weapons/shields, i'm still rocking the Shadow Hunter spear on my attacker, satanic sister/xiii-2 shield on my caster, and Death Herald/Renegade on my tank. Just finished clearing luxerion and yusaanan, got to Caius before running away once he wrecked me. Are there any "good" weapons I should try and farm for or something? I'm clearing story missions at a pretty good clip so I figure throwing a day away to get less squishy might be a good tactical decision.

Thanks. This is essentially what I've been figuring out, albeit slowly. My only problem is that when it comes to staggering, I've never cared to use any strategies outside of "hit it with what it's weak against," so for much of this I've been brute forcing it. I do have a stagger schema set up that I may drag with me if I fail this current run.

If you want to do it the cheap way: Use Elementa or one of the -ra level spells until all you can't cast anymore, then use overdrive and do it again, etc. etc. until he staggers. If you need to, chug the ether and continue.

Wildlands boss drops a good sword. Otherwise, your best bet is probably just to farm gil and buy an expensive one from the shop.

Drive Reavers to extinction and then pick up the sword from the ground in triumph.

Don't worry about the animals the world is ending soon anyways.

I don't remember anything being said about saving the animals for the new world, so I guess they don't have souls. Plus, given the ending, none of them make it to Earth anyway. I assume Lightning is just eradicating species for fun.

Just finished the Yusnaan main quest.

Really liked the Lightning/Snow confrontation. As melodramatic as it was, Ali Hillis and Troy Baker did a great job selling me on it. I found it amusing that in it's own minor way, *Punch Snow* helped save him in the end. :v: The whole main quest was great, overall. Got a good laugh at Lightning's deadpan "Oh no, you saw through my elaborate disguise" and Hope giving Lightning poo poo for sticking out by going into the plaza "populated by couples." And to top it off, the whole infiltration/play plan was ridiculously crazy and I loved it.

Extinction is probably my favorite thing. NEver having to see chcocobo eaters again has made my day. Or well much of anything if I go to the Wildlands since I killed it all. Not so wild now! :smuggo:

No one left uncured.
I got you.
Funny story: There's a quest in Yusnaan where you have to defeat a bunch of Niblets, and they drop Niblet-Slayer Emblems on the field screen. There's also a quest in Yusnaan where you have to make Niblets extinct.

If you do the latter quest first, then when you start the former they just spawn 30 Niblet-Slayer Emblems on the ground right in front of you. None of the quest dialog changes in any way.

I wondered how they handled that. Well, it's better than it being bugged.

I am very particular about biscuits, I'll have you know.
Is it worth it finish off Last Ones before the bonus dungeon?

Also in my new game plus I just slayed the cultists instead of following them and Hope goes, "Uh I think you just need to go to the graveyard phone." That saved some time :)

You get good items earlier. Ravager at bare minimum is worth finishing off.

So did this game end up being FF: Majora's Mask? I love games with large towns and subquests like The Last Story, Deadly Premonition and MM. Is it ANYTHING like those games in terms of interesting microworld buiding?

I wouldn't say it is as detailed as Majora's Mask but it's reasonable close to Last Story in that regards. There are two large towns and then a few wilderness areas with small villages in them.

I apparently managed to get in there in between 0 and 30. They let you kill Niblets until you reach the second to last one, then they just stop spawning.

I at least managed to pick up some Hair-Comb for another quest though (all the way to where you fight the Cyclops thing), but finally giving up and going back and picking up the Emblems was pretty annoying.

Fun fact, if you do that quest, and then make Niblets extinct, you can go back to the entrance of the Industrial Area, and 30 more emblems will be sitting on the ground there.

I...I just realized something. I'm on day 5, and completed missions 1, 2, and am stuck on the boss of 3, and have completed (almost) all of the sidequests in areas 1 and 2, and only NOW am I noticing the "Adornment" slot in my schemata. Yep.

I had a lot of luck just inside the "sneaking in" door in the industrial area, down the first set of metal stairs. It's not worth wiping them all out though, if that's what you're doing.

Hey duders, just a heads up for those going into a new game plus: If you complete more than 40 sidequests during NG+, not only will you unlock the optional dungeon, but you'll unlock a significantly tougher version of the final boss. He is pretty much superboss level then. Given, this form has a better chance of dropping the Double Deity, but its only a 15% chance, and the weapon itself isn't the best.

If you've already gone through the Industrial Gate once for the Yusnaan main quest (I think it's 2-1 or 2-2), talk to the same guard you gave the ticket to and you can start the Death Safari sidequest and kill 30 Niblets pretty quick. After that it's a matter of killing them any time they pop up in a town and running around the Wildlands. The guide says they appear in groups in later days (7+?), but I haven't gotten that far yet. I still have'em down to Rare just by killing them whenever I see them.

I'm nearing the end of day 5 and have been having a blast with leveling up through side quests. I think I've done about all of them in Luxerion and The Wildlands, but the only main quest I have completed is the Shadow Hunter one. Am I screwing myself by not prioritizing these? Is there anything I should be sure to get done before the difficulty spike at the end of day 6?

Depends on how many days your timer has remaining, but I'd power through the main quests at that point. I took the same approach as you and ended up running out of time. If nothing else, do the Yusnaan one for a good piece of gear for certain miniboss and boss fights.
