When are the Raiders right about anything?

Ginn will be that Bruce Arians deep threat the Cards didn't have before, and the line will hopefully give old man Palmer time to throw. Pretty sure he will do fine alongside Fitz and Floyd and Ellington, and probably better than Javier arenas' worthless rear end at kick returns. All he has to do is run fast.

Edit: Peterson doesn't return kicks and might not do punts now? He was bad last year/never got kicked to.

I don't know if these are records for how little passing yards you can have and still win, but we might see more like this! Stay tuned!

Oh come on now, that game was the birth of the wild cat, when Dan Henning almost exclusively ran DeAngelo on the single wing and Atlanta could do absolutely nothing to stop it. 4 yards every time.

And Ginn is still complete dog poo poo, even if he still has good top end speed and clowned the Patriots during the sunday night game. I've never seen someone with less field awareness, and christ his hands.

I just have a sinking feeling that if we get Steve Smith he's going to drop a gamewinner in the playoffs/game needed to get into the playoffs.

This is the legend of all Baltimore FA receivers. Even Boldin got thunk'd in the hands and dropped an important one in the 2010 divisional that would've moved the chains.

So it is written.

Then again Steve Smith getting in some dude's head on the Bengals/Steelers would be hilarious. Smith clowning Talib last season was a thing of beauty.

Joe Biden is a top 15 president
Woodson is about the only player that the Raiders drafted in 'recent' memory that went elsewhere and played at a high level. I don't think Moss/Collins/Hall Really count

And even Woodson was drafted in 1998 which I would say was before AL lost it

Edit: So if you get a player that the Raiders willingly let go I'd be wary

Edit 2: Stevie Brown is ok

I'm really counting on Smith's ego to kill any potential deal. I'd be shocked if we signed Steve Smith and drafted a receiver in the first two rounds and I'll be livid if we don't draft a receiver in the first two rounds. With this year's WR crop it will be like watching Keenan Allen explode after passing on him twice in the draft except with 7 different guys.

Since the merger, for those curious. The two funniest are the Bills beating the Jets in '74 going 0-for-2, although I've heard that was in awful weather, and the Oilers beating the Bengals in '81 with one completion for three yards.

Anyway, any news on the Wilfork situation? Like, are they going to have to release him by a certain date to avoid paying him some kind of bonus, as sometimes happens in these situations, or might this take some time to actually develop?

I don't think there's a certain date, seems to be just a case of him being due $7.5 mil this year, them not wanting to pay him that given circumstances (injury/age), and asking for a restructure being the last straw for him.

I like the Thurmond possibility a lot more than Chris Cook, at least. Still hoping for them to work something out with Brown most of all. Edelman... I guess it depends on what the deal is. If it's a Manningham-type situation, where everyone thinks he'll get a big-money deal but they snag him for cheap unexpectedly then fine. I wouldn't want them to invest considerable money in him though.

I wonder what ghee got from the chargers, I know the bengals carried him for a few years expecting big things but he was always injured. Maybe zimmer was going to bat for him, but it seems odd to have built a prospect and then oet him go for what I would imagine is cheap when your players at that position are old, or not highly skilled, anyways. now again we're talking about a guy who's made all of no impact, so maybe I'm just over-reacting, its just not a good omen, in my opinion.
