It'll be so organic. Organic growth, guys." Everything in this interview makes me think it's gonna be a hot mess as two writers who know jack poo poo about the Flash take over. I didn't really get the "he's gonna be black" thing unless Iris has a secretly black brother or sister or something, since he's still her nephew(though I suppose Daniel's sown oats could've been with a black woman, that'd be kind of contrived), but if he is it's gonna be pretty outstandingly stupid. Assuming he's anything like Wally West he'll be, for starters, an irresponsible black guy whose character traits are wisecracking and running fast.

Did I miss something, or did they delay the Batman Superman containing part 3 of First Contact while still putting out Worlds Finest containing part 4?

At least DC saved me the trouble of buying an extra issue, I guess. First Contact was yet another DC event that just... thing, and the fact that it's basically responsible for a portion of the standstill that Powergirl got stuck in prior to doesn't help matters.

I've liked what Palmiotti has been doing on All Star Western but gently caress him by fridging Gina. I can see the reasons for her death but still gently caress him, she was a great character.

Because I thought fridging someone was specifically killing a female character specifically to get a rise or motivate a male character and nothing else.

Gina died because she wasn't accustomed to the old west extreme conditions. I can understand the logic (she was a city girl after all) but it feels really awful to off her on one issue. Why put her on the story in the first place then?

Dark_Tzitzimine posted:I can see the reasons for her death but still gently caress him, she was a great character. In what ways was she a good character? Maybe I'm biased because the time-travel arc dragged on so long it made me bitter towards anything relating to it, but I don't recall her doing much of anything besides explaining the ways of the present to Jonah (which doesn't count for much since that was done mostly during a time skip, so we didn't get to see any character traits develop. And pretty much every other character he ran into over the course of the arc doing a lot of explaining-the-present, so it wasn't like she was unique in that respect). Oh, and she talked about how much she wanted to gently caress Jonah in various locales a lot. I am hard pressed to think of a reason to care about her or her demise. I mean, you could call it textbook fridging, but isn't the dead girl supposed to give the man motivation? Jonah never really seemed that interested in her at all in the present as anything beyond a sex object. And what's Jonah supposed to be motivated to do? Kill... harsh western conditions? The Apache that he already killed? The entire Apache nation?

I found Gina interesting because she showed herself to be more than a clumsy girl smitten by the badass and brooding Jonah, she wasn't one to stand fo his bullshit and she was constantly calling him out and taking her own decisions. She was constantly on the role of a victim but what were you expecting? she was only a city girl with no real combat experience. And I'm hoping her death means something for Jonah because if Palmiotii wanted to get rid of her, he just should've left her on the present. As it stands now I'm getting the message than she was killed by being a stubborn woman who didn't knew better and I found that kind of message way more troubling than the handling of Starfire. EDIT: WHAT THE gently caress DC? Is from the September's Batman Death of the Family TP and Joker Mask Set. only $39.99 USD Dark_Tzitzimine fucked around with this message at 23:10 on Mar 27, 2014 |

~Todd McFarlane's Twisted Fairy Tales~ So why is the skin under the mask hosed up at the top of the brow and in the mouth but perfectly fine around the eyes? I mean, I guess it could be the Joker's Daughter, but then she still cut off like only half of her face? What's the point of that?

They have a long experience of coding their pornyness successfully enough to avoid Catwoman (EDIT: or RHatO) levels of disapproval, and since a woman is involved I guess it is automatically 50% less problematic on the standard scale? EDIT: I don't really like them myself. Their skill at flat, utilitarian (if poppy) craftsmanship only enhances the instrumentality of the image, that is to say, its purpose as an item of slick and easy consumption.
