It normally doesnt. You have to remember that their reason for the rough patch was injuries though, many without return dates (or at minimum, later in the playoffs). That was why people were picking Chicago.

Colorado vs. Minnesota - Avs in 5: The Wild has some x factors, but the Avs just overpower them, especially in goal. Yeah, I didn't make a joke about beating them in net. :colbert

St. Louis vs. Chicago - Hawks in 6: Looks like a good series, they both have some injuries, they both have some great players and good depth, but it's pretty easy to envision the Hawks being better in the playoffs.
