I'm gonna be in the city tomorrow around gametime. Rather than rush to get home, I figured I'd catch the game at a bar around MSG. Any recommendations for a good one?

The Flying Puck on 7th is the hockey bar you see in all those reaction videos. I like going to Molly Wee's on 8th as it's cheap, they have good food, and Dancing Larry is always there pre-game. If you want something more upscale then try Legends.

Yeah, Flying Puck (which I work right across from) is good. Stout is ok too.

Prust is an allright player but he'd do better if he stopped trying to be a tough dude. Avery was just fun from a personality standpoint; I'm not really sure I'd ever actually want him on my team.

Win some lose some. Problem with Bolio is that the coaching staff doesn't trust him defensively because he didn't get enough regular season reps. He played like 8 minutes last game.

Rule of Therrien demands every good lineup change be balanced with a bad one. Walk the middle path toward destruction.

\/ \/ The only real casualty is another hit to Beaulieu's valuable chances at playoff experience, and another incident for the mountain of evidence that Therrien is a complete moron who has no idea how to build and maintain young players' confidence.

I'm not convinced that's a problem with Beaulieu as much as it is a problem with the coaching staff, but otherwise, yeah.

I mean at least it isn't Murray moving in but I don't see anything good coming of Bouillon being back in there.

Considering Goldblum's moves it's safe to say this is effectively organizational philosophy.

I just don't get it - sheltered minutes and a lot of O zone starts, sure, but I have noticed Bow do nothing but good pretty much every game he's been in, and does things dogcubes simply can't. I really like how he has managed to continue to use his puck skills in the tight checking postseason, and I have seen enough defensive disasters to remember the goat - and he aint one of them. Bow did a couple noteworthily positive things in game 3 with eight minutes worth of TOI.

Montreal's lack of defensive depth has been exposed this postseason - can you imagine a world where we didn't pick up Weaver and one of Cube or Hund was playing every game? Perish the thought.

Avery had some skill as an actual hockey player, but he let his gigantic ego get in the way every single time.

Wasn't Prust's Corsi stats pretty decent when he played for NY then they took a gigantic dump when he went to the Habs? It also seems to me that he was less goony on the Rangers. Maybe confirmation bias, who knows. I liked him alright as a Ranger, but he was certainly not worth the money he was asking at the end there.

Definitely. There have been many shifts where the Habs were hemmed in their zone and couldn't clear. I remember vividly noticing that Beaulieu was able to skate to loose puck battles and actually move the puck out. If dog was there it would have likely ended up as a goal after sustained pressure and icings.

He had somewhat of a sophomore hangover coming out slow to start the season. He was sent to Hamilton to get some more heavy minutes and find his legs. He did and looked solid when he got called up. Then in an overtime game he got caught in a bad pinch that led to a turnover goal. Therrien being Therrien then promptly fired him into the sun.

Zamboni Jesus

We don't really care about what that bug-eyed fat walrus has to say
tinordi had one bad play which obscured the fact that he was really good otherwise because therrien is an idiot. bouillon is the second worst defenseman in the league after only dog murray so literally the only upside is that it isn't murray. beaulieu was playing well considering and should have gotten more minutes so that that subban didn't have to try to be the entire defense.

i like how beaulieu gets scratched but emelin continues to be sent out there to let all new york's skaters walk around him on the rush.

Stickarts posted:

what's funny is that montreal's lack of defensive depth is significantly a product of therrien because tinordi and beaulieu have been right there. having two rookies isn't ideal but if therrien had played them all season they'd be in a much better position now as well.

the main reason i don't want montreal to bring weaver back is that would just be another fringe defenseman (albeit a much better one than murray or bouillon at least) who therrien would repeatedly play over tinordi and beaulieu
