Can somebody post a good summary of this mess or something? I have a lot of popcorn, but not 10 hours of time to sift through the chaos.

Another entry on their blog summarizes things: http://versusjs.blogspot.ca/2014/04/joint-statement-regarding-criminal-case.html Apparently the guy actually managed to put together and ship his DVD but I wonder how it turned out.

This part of their message really stands out to me:quote:If Agness never gets another contract in the games industry — an industry littered with childish behaviour — she can always move on to less stressful things. And if I never see another dime of venture funding, I can always do contract work. We will be just fine. I just really can't figure out what possessed them to write something like that.

It's pretty easy for someone's reputation to be ruined regardless of how a trial goes. That said, this dude is clearly insane and is already doing enough to undermine himself and they could probably just let him self-destruct... I don't know that there's any good way to engage. Is it still much much easier to port a PC game to XBox than the other two or is that no longer applicable this generation. (Just curious)

# ? Jun 10, 2014 06:02 |

By all accounts the PS4 is the easiest to port to but it and the XBone are similar in architecture.

# ? Jun 10, 2014 06:11 |

Well I think it's meant to be a lot easier to port a DirectX engine to XBone but come to think of it I doubt that's all that relevant here; there'll be an OGL version for Mac and I suspect they'll probably be building on a preexisting engine anyway. I'm sure it's just Microsoft paying them.

But you mean there's a weird-rear end game with the same name, don't you?

4 days left on SuperHOT and they're at 200 percent of their goal, with only two stretch goals remaining (NewGame+ and a level editor, which would be pretty cool to have). Glad to see this doing well, the demo is just too strong.

There's a new visual novel translation taking place. The story seems to be about economics and it's written by the person who wrote Spice and Wolf, which is generally considered pretty good. Seems like it would be worth checking out if you're into that sort of thing. I couldn't find that much about it with a casual google, but thankfully there seems to be no evidence of any of the skeeviness that infects an awful lot of the genre. Just a boy, and the dreams of venture capitalism (on the moon).

The first episode of World End Economica already came out in English. The translation was initially a little rough but they did another pass on it and it's fine now. There's no pornographic or adult content in it or anything, so don't worry about that.

I'm getting really tired of these Mighty No 9 updates. It was a game where all the major programming hurdles were solved by '92, how much more creator-promotion spam do they intend to send out before they release the game?
