First of all, with only 6 Wisdom, he doesn't have the wisdom-perception he needs to understand that he needs to up his Wisdom. It's a viscous cycle of un-wise-ness. Secondly, I think I read the stat is Dexterity. So, he can dodge and roll, and float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. If it were me, I'd shoot the moon for the 90 INT so I could read Grandpa's magic super-book and then up my other stats. I know, I know. It's unwise, but, hey, my Wisdom is only 6 too.

He's a powerhouse offensively, but if he spends those skill points he'll have nothing left for defense. If anyone gets the jump on him he'll be toast. Personally I love my thief/wizard cross class not only for purposes of damage and sneakiness, but because it is a utility class as well. It can do everything. Summons, sneaking, lock picking, invisibility, illusion, sneak attacks and the occasional direct damage spell. In these sorts of games to reach 90 int, does he need to hit the derived stat with all of the buffs to learn the skill or does he need to reach it with the base stat? If he goes for it and he has to reach the base he'll only have 18 points to muck about with, which isn't a whole lot. I think that sometime soon he is going to be punished for not having defensive skills. I think that time is rapidly approaching as he waffles on what would be the "best build". He'll get his rear end beat, "pause" the game and make an executive decision to pump skills not into int, but into dex and after he ends the pause, he'll suddenly be far more powerful and clobber the enemy. At least that is my theory. Though maybe that's because I want him to pump 50 into dex and become a magic wielding Solid Snake. Edit: I just noticed something when I reread. His luck is now at 13 where it was at 9 at the beginning. I don't think he has pumped luck. When did this happen? Ice Phisherman fucked around with this message at 02:11 on Jun 13, 2014 |

That would probably work... grind mobs for money, use money at casinos to grind luck, use luck to get better drops/more money, repeat. Finally, win the national lotto.

The problem with "using your powers" in this case isn't something cut and dry like robbing a bank with your super powers. Instead, it's abusing your native stats to obtain something. It's like using your strength training done while training your powers to win at sports: although you haven't been using your power directly, because your stats are raised you have benefited from it. In this case, even though winning the lotto isn't something done directly (like using ESP to influence the numbers that come out), the luck stat was still raised via the ability. Chances are, it would slide, but people would be looking very hard at you to make sure you aren't doing anything shady.

Well, in many games wisdom is what a healing character would put points into, and since he's basically all mage damage it makes sense to make that a dump stat. I would be all about putting points into luck though, there have to be some really op features to both the game and your own life to being insanely lucky.

Other people are able to get monster drops though, right? There's a whole market full of various items from ID dungeons and whatnot, that's where he got his earth element skill book. Is it just that he makes them drop items more often? At the same time, I do remember something about someone needing him to make the monsters drop items, so who knows.

No, things like the book are made from presumably some sort of actual wizard dude writing books about magic, and the items are actually made by people. That's why his ability is so good.

Normally item crafting in MMOs is a crapshoot, simply because there's a million other people who can do your job just as well as you so there's way too much competition. But if our protagonist here can craft items with videogame rules, that is just gather the ingredients, select the item and BAM, it's done? Think of how many things he can make in a day. Things that might take others days or weeks or months or years to make. What a bullshit character.

Those magically created ones sort of "despawn" when they're killed, preventing looting.

That said, I usually feel like having a crafter in MMOs is generally useful because it's always better to have a crafter readily on hand rather than having to work through the market, but that's all dependent on guild relations and poo poo. And at the moment, our Gamer's guild relations is like one family maybe.

He could learn to make amazing items in like a week, when it takes others a lifetime. He is a one-man guild! I don't know why other families haven't come swarming after him trying to recruit him. Not that many people know about him, but still, word has got to be getting around about what a bullshit character he is. Too bad that he put all his skill points into having lots of mana, and the #1 use of people in the underworld is as mana factories. I sure hope that doesn't come back to bit him in the butt .
