Moola posted:Rules question because FW is weird at writing rules sometimes: No, he cannot. A character and any drones they have purchased (or that come with them automatically) are a unit unto themselves- the only way the character can leave them is to die. (Also, for pedantry's sake, note that technically his Drones do not benefit from his Drone Controller because they are not Marker Drones, they are Blacklight Marker Drones, which aren't the same thing. The intention is pretty obvious, though.)

Ok cool, that's what I assumed. loving weird rules for that guy tbh. T5, which he can't take advantage of until his drones die, and he can't not take the drones. Independent Character rule, but they give him another rule that stops him using it... and like you said, Drone Controller that technically doesn't work with his drones, because they are BLACKLIGHT DRONES, which are identical to Marker Drones in everything but name... :forgeworld:

That Helfrost thingy is probably pretty useful for taking out some of the nastier units of Necrons. Since removed from play may not allow them their reanimation protocols. But at I2 I never realized a Necron death star was really that terrifying to anyone. It would be perfect for AM multiwound models too I guess - because killing guardsmen is such a tricky thing to do! Oh man! This is glorious!

I've just decanted a brand new pot of Ulthuan Grey (mixing it with white for an army) and it was so dried out it blocked the 10mm aperture of the funnel I was using, even with the full content of the pot sitting in the top of the funnel. The pot had never been opened before, the tamper seal was still in place and the lid looked to be properly attached. Citadel paints are a loving disgrace.

It's kind of a cool looking model in a batshit baroque way, but the Nephilim looks way better. More sleek.

It doesn't even do a good job of looking like a dog head. Like if they took the wolfy wolf helmet on the space wolves sprue and blew it up like 10000% in their 3d modeling program, it'd be a way better base for the flying disembodied dog head.

No he can't, any more than a Veteran Sergeant can decide to walk out of his squad to hang out on his own. Models can't just leave their unit because they feel like it. And Drone Controllers specifically work with Gun Drones, Marker Drones, and Sniper Drones- most people miss that. Other types of drones do not benefit from their effects. (If they did, every one of my lists would include a Commander hanging out with Broadsides to get a bunch of BS5 Missile Drones, because obviously those things aren't good enough already.) I kind of like the way it looks. I'm tempted to buy one to go with the stormclaw wolves I picked up over the weekend... this is how armies start So compared to the Storm Raven, the transport version has the remove from play gun, more model capacity (I think; my SM codex is still packed up) and looks more like a dog. The Storm Raven is cheaper, has access to 1-2 storm talon escorts, and doesn't it have a dangerous way of dropping off troops without going into hover? I really hope my Space Wolves buddy gets at least one of these so I can start fielding more fliers without ruining the fun. Edit: vvv Oh yeah! Man, if I field that thing I'm going to find an extra 100 pts to drop a normal dread down. I need to play an apocalypse size game so I can bring all of my toys. Edit 2: Ugh, even 3000 points is not enough to field all of the space marine stuff I want to use. drgnvale fucked around with this message at 06:28 on Jul 23, 2014 |
