It's been considered either a lost cause or a really long shot ever since Baucus announced he wasn't going to run again. There was a brief surge of hope when Walsh got appointed because, on paper, Walsh is a good Democratic candidate, but it never materialized. That said, nobody except partisans pays attention to these races before late-September / October anyway. But in other states that should be tough for Democrats like Arkansas and Alaska, Begich and Pryor have been leading in the polling or been neck-and-neck with their prospective opponents.

The thing that kills me is she didn't even TRY the website or attempt to seek out coverage provided by the new law. It's smaller than it used to be, but still screwing folks over. 1. See if she's eligible for Medicaid. Most states will let you apply online. 2. Look at options with the ACA. 3. If all else fails, look for a patient assistance program from the pharmaceutical company and just don't mention any insurance on the application.

Thank you, gentlemen. I want to try and help her and know that (eventually at least) the ACA will help her but most of her meds are psychiatric, have to to do with mental health issues and I already know our country is poo poo at dealing with that in the first place so there's that. Plus, the fact that she's half crazy and diagnosed bi-polar in the first place precludes her from taking any initiative to seek out options. She's like a child and an absolute master of self sabotage and helplessness. She's putting me in the unique position of defending this chickenshit law, surrounded by friends who are telling her that Obama and the ACA are loving her over. Sounds like she's starting to believe it. Even funnier (haha) is that almost all of her friends are gay and they STILL hate Obama. One (her neighbor) even has AIDS and was denied visitation rights to his partner when he died. She donated money to the Obama campaign in 2008 (money she really didn't have) and sounds like she's on the verge becoming a Republican. I suppose I should take this to the PPACA thread but I can't find it. Thanks again though, guys.

Depending on your area there may be charities (often church run) specifically for this situation. There are a number of organizations in my area that provide medication assistance, some which specialize specifically in psychiatric meds. Regrettably there is no centralized website to go to or particularly easy way to find out, the best bet would be to call your local Catholic Charity and go from there. Catholic Charity organizations in my experience generally know the lay of the land better than anyone else when it comes to avialable charity programs.

Yeah, for whatever reason the White House website didn't carry it live, despite saying they would. Obama basically confirmed that he'd authorized bombing, especially if ISIS moves on Erbil, where American consular officials are present, despite an earlier Pentagon statement that no such authorization had been made. He also hinted rather strongly that everyone was looking forward to a "new Iraqi government", i.e. GTFO Maliki. Anyway, Stacy "Don't Say Gay" Campfield is losing his State Senate primary in Tennessee.

Get your tri-corner hats and misspelled/racist signs ready folks, because National Impeach Obama Week is coming up (August 23-31)! Reasons for impeachment include (but not limited to) general lawlessness, Obamacare, Benghazi, supporting Al Quaeda, importing illegal aliens for political gain, psychological pathology, forgery of documents to prove eligibility for office, radical and subversive anti-Americanism, and (You are also encouraged to contact your congressmen and write letters to newspapers during this times [sic] to demand impeachment.)
