Sorry, a system error occurred.
Pretty much everything from last night was just a hot mess, though nearly all challenges involving lots of fun fur and feathers ends up that way. I was excited to see George's, but I think it was more than he could handle in the time he had.

Also why do most of the contestants this season have horrible hair and/or facial hair? I know it's par for the course on Face Off, but it seems way more common this season.

Perhaps you have not been to the *Playground*.
The *Playground* is for Taalo and for Orz, but *Campers* can go.
It more fun than several.
You can go there for too much fun.

Just quoting myself from last week because I watched the premiere of the show last night and was extremely aggravated yet again by SyFy's insistence on making every show Face Off. The "shop time" segments are so loving horrible and pretty much unwatchable, and the format is just dumb all the way around.

Couldn't just do a magic talent show judged by Penn & Teller could we? I hate the way networks think.

I kind of enjoyed the show but I felt like it was filmed too cheaply. It just looked ugly.

On topic, I couldn't even look at Stella's makeup without wincing last night. I know Doc's was bad and he has a history of being bad, but Stella really screwed it up last night.

I thought all three bottom looks were ghastly but Doc's was easily the worst. Of the rest I liked Cig's the most. You could see the alligator and the armadillo features blended really well.

Doc definitely deserved to go home. He's not utter trash-tier but yeah he tried and tried and failed and failed and sorry dude but them's the breaks. Stella's was arguably even worse than his, but she was a clear mulligan. I wonder if blue-hair's lack of paint skill is going to be her undoing as well.

Overall I've got to agree that this week had some really messy makeups all-around. It's probably no coincidence that the Owl and Gator (well one of the Gator) makeups turned out the best-- it's obvious that none of the contestants had much experience working with fur and feathers and so pretty much everyone was working off-balance.

On another note I'm finding Mackenzie Pierce is somehow looking even more gorgeous this season than she has before :allears:.

Fun fur week, huh? Guaranteed to be bad, and delivered on the promise. I was actually really surprised that Sasha's sculpt worked out as expected, I was afraid it wouldn't come out and wouldn't read as feathers. Good for her.

Her speech pattern and the way she wobbles her head when she talks always makes her look and sound drunk whenever she talks. It annoyed me at first but it's one of my favourite parts of the show now. :allears:

This show actually already exists and was called "Penn & Teller: Fool Us". It was great and didn't have any of the Face-Off/Wizard Wars style bullshit.

Was there a US version? I just saw the UK one hosted by Jonathan Ross.

A few weeks ago, CW started running the old Fool Us episodes on Wednesday nights. As someone who'd only seen some of the YouTube stuff, it's fun to watch. Hopefully they are testing the waters for a US version next year.

This strikes me as a weird idea for a challenge. Wonderland and Oz are too similar.

I really agree with that. Both are also bright, and really colorful. I guess if you went with the Burton Alice, though.. Things tended to get a lot weirder/creepy with odd proportions which is something the Animated Disney version didn't do. Alice is a bit more trippy, too. (I guess you could go with American McGee's Alice, too, which is super bleak and dark.)

"Maybe it's just out of the box enough." Yeah, your werewolf-lion is perfect for this challenge.

I can't remember if we've seen the Tinman's model get into character before in any other challenges. It's kind of neat how much the models can elevate a design by having fun in the makeup. The witch's model always looks miserable on stage.

I think the Tinman is a beautiful design, I just think it makes it even better that it looked like the model was having fun with the costume.

She told him she disagreed with his idea. I have no clue how many other times she tried explaining that his lion was too dark for the challenge, but even if you just went with her whiny "I wanna make something pretty, everyone else's is pretty, ours is not" she still told him she didn't like the idea when they were originally brain storming.

I'm with you Johnny Longtorso. That Tin Man looked like both classical Oz and Wonderland. The Flying Monkey was more creative, but was more American McGee's Alice and Oz.

I was also very glad to see Jason go home. While Sasha the Savant is probably the most passive-aggressive, whiny, underhanded contestant I can remember on the show it was still ultimately Jason flying in the face of what the challenge was in one of the most blatant examples of "at least try to fit the challenge or you're getting sent home" I've ever seen. I mean seriously they should just play this episode to newbies and say "don't do what this guy did. There's always at least a few of you every loving season but just once learn from this guy and address the challenge of the episode."
