Well I know the season is close now. Today the cable guy is coming to turn on the cable for my annual 6 month re-establishment of service (I'm a tight wad and cancel it between the end of the season since I can mostly watch tv on Netflix/Hulu). Today is a good day. Just 3 days until Sun Devil football.

That's cool. Is it going to be on the field itself or outside the lines? I can't quite tell from the article.

I've always thought it would be cool if ASU could further its honoring of Pat Tillman by making the each of the 42 yard line hash marks gold instead of white. Though I wonder if there's some weird NCAA rule that wouldn't allow that.

There are a few pictures in the article. It's on the field.

Or properly locate South Carolina on a map.

The comments are pretty choice. Some guy made an offhand "Lol interception" joke and people got all pissy. "Not cool, man. His football life and his real life are completely separate".

Miami TE Beau Sandland is transferring. Dunno where yet, but he wants to be "an environment more like his Woodland Hills, Calif. home, which borders the Santa Monica Mountains."

He was a big time juco player with scholarships from nearly everywhere, but he didn't manage to crack the two-deep in Miami.

I never could figure out why everyone thought Coker was this huge talent who was a lock to win the job. As far as I can tell the only thing he's really done is lose his job to a guy who went on to win the Heisman. He wasn't a big time recruit or anything.

I think it doesn't have a whole lot of reasoning besides Alabama. Oh, there's a player maybe starting for Alabama, he's got to be a 4 or 5 star recruit.

The media narrative started with Herbstreit going bonkers about the guy and saying that Jameis's biggest feat was beating Coker for the job, I think

Pretty much. Hype from Jimbo that was then picked up by Herbstreit, et al., and hopeful optimism running with it among the Alabama fan collective.

Also there are 8 true freshmen on FSU's two deep :allears:

I'm winning a lot of bets with my friends over the Coker situation. I think it's because I never listen to Herbstreit, probably because he's in the videogames always talking about poo poo not related to the field at all and I think that's become ingrained with my opinion of him.

Baylor released our depth charts today. Interesting Tidbits:
-Sophomore Ryan Reid ousted fellow Sophomore Terrence Singleton from the Spring depth chart as starting Cornerback opposite Xavien Howard. The two are basically identical in size and weight, but Singleton was originally a QB, and then a safety while Reid's been a CB for longer, and Bennett was higher on Reid when they were recruited, so this isn't too big a surprise. Singleton is listed as backup to both. Man I hope these guys show us why Bennett's so high on them - Baylor + Solid Corners is something I really want to see.
-True Freshman receivers KD Cannon and Davion Hall both made the depth chart. With Fuller out until ISU or so and Jay Lee and Corey Coleman shaking off minor injuries, they're pretty much guaranteed to see some time this year. I'm pretty excited about that, based on practice reports.
-Kick Returners are star WR Antwan Goodley and RS Freshman Johnny Jefferson. Jefferson intruiges me, Goodley excites me - provided both stay healthy. If Goodley can improve against press coverage and do some damage returning kicks, he could challenge Tyler Lockett for the title of Big 12's best receiver.

Ramik Wilson is NOT listed as a starter on UGA's chart. He missed most of Fall practice with a concussion. He's healthy now, but Pruitt doesn't appear to think he's ready to start.

I don't know... Lockett is pretty amazing. He's who I'm wishing Coleman grows up to be. I think all the other Big 12 receivers are competing for second place, kinda like TEs and Amaro last year.

Just rewatched that Auburn-Georgia play. On like the 10th replay of it they show a side view where you can see the whole field. Despite having 8 DB's there was a Auburn receiver by himself like, 3 yards past the 1st down since they were playing 3 deep and all 3 safeties followed Louis. Good thing for everyone Nick Marshal didn't see him, otherwise we would have been denied the greatest ending.

Yeah, the guy wide open was Sammie Coates who burned teams all season. In the huddle, Louis told Marshall to get him the ball and...well...:allears:
