I didn't watch the video of the kid getting hit because I don't want to watch someone die, but the kid ran onto the race line while sprint cars were running and those things have giant wings on the right side that can't help visibility. Is there really a chance this wasn't just a horrific accident?

There's literally no chance that it was anything other than an accident, predicated by the moron exiting the car, but we live in an era where if a perceived crime takes place and idiots cry loud enough, criminal charges are pressed so the DA looks effective.

The DA won't look very effective when there's no guilty verdict

I'd wager that there's no area in the US where the DA has a losing record milking a celeb to a not guilty is the least of their problems

Doubtful it gets past the grand jury but it's the DAs job to submit it if there is any question.

Watched the ESPN Sports Century piece on Dale Earnhardt and now going to watch old races of his. He had a hell of a personality, good thing Brian France has decided those aren't necessary any longer

Part of the reason a lot of people hated Earnhardt was he was allowed to do whatever with no penalty, but the second a Rusty Wallace or Ernie Irvan showed up he'd cry to NASCAR and they'd crucify those guys in drivers meetings. His personality is the only one they let flourish in the last 35 years, and even that was a manufactured personality. He was the Intimidator, they tell us, yet I never saw him do anything intimidating other than run people over. He was a small, quiet guy who generally ran to his hauler when his crew was in a fistfight on pitroad.

And, as an Earnhardt hater at the time, that was like porn, especially with scorned Earnhardt flipping him off on the cooldown lap. I remember that Earnhardt's fans resented that race to the point where they were gleefully bringing it up as "karma" when the whole meth thing broke. Dale Earnhardt fans were mentally ill.

A car in 5th place goes to the lead in basically 3 laps after starting in single file at Bristol. You won't see that ever again lol. Man I forgot what it was like when cars could actually pass.

How many of his wins didn't involve intentionally wrecking another driver? Jeremy Mayfield seemed pretty cool except for the whole meth thing, and I am still caremad about the fine Carl Long got years back. What races would you gents recommend I watch, I have some free time edit: Oh Dale meant to just rattle his cage, not spin him around, makes sense
