according to dutch media belgian intelligence can't keep track of their loonies and only prevented this through working together with mostly dutch intelligence in this case

they also have 2-3 times more jihadists than the netherlands despite having 11 million people rather than 16

Yup, the loyal client state of Canada is now the number 1 source of US oil imports:

The long term idea was probably to buy oil from the middle east until it started to run dry, then let those countries collapse while we switch to North American reserves and enjoy another hundred years of voracious fossil fuel consumption.

I think I once saw a Winston Churchill quote that went something like "For the last 500 years all they've done is ride around on camels cutting each others heads off, and as soon as the oil runs out they'll go right back to doing that."

I read a thing where the PKK is fighting against isis, which is nice because they have a good proportion of female fighters and retardo muslim extremists apparently believe they won't go to pussy paradise if they are killed by a women.

too bad the pkk is on the terrorist list too so we won't help them

US admits there is a much scarier terrorist group than ISIS

quote:

New intelligence has emerged warning Washington that its upcoming confrontation with the Islamic State may leave it blind to a more sinister and direct threat from a much lesser known terrorist group that has arisen from the ashes of the Syrian war.

Very little information is being released at the moment by anyone within American intelligence circles, but the group calling itself Khorasan is said by officials to have concrete plans for striking targets in the United States and Europe as a chosen modus operandi – more so than the Islamic State (IS), formerly known as ISIS.

The point I'm trying to make is that the only way to come out on top is to kick the Air Force in the nuts, beart it savagely with a weight and take a dump on it's face.
'More concrete plans' means anything more than loudly proclaiming how you'll somehow overthrow the United States, the Pope, and Spain on the internet, correct?

intelligence agencies openly admit they don't know about everyone for sure, but the ones they do know about, they know through prior surveillance, social media posts, and possibly cell phone data. basically when it comes to this kind of thing, they can only know as much as people are willing to talk about on monitored communication networks, and people are willing to say a lot. maybe because they think at the time that they're never going to go back home.

but yea, i think if you never said anything to anyone, and managed to find your way into syria and link up with the flavor of the month rebel group, the various western spy groups would never know about you. although you'd be bound to appear in some rebel photo or video session sooner or later, and then possibly IDed by anyone who gave a poo poo.

didn't make it up, just don't want to come off like i have first or even second hand info. i just read news articles and go off prior knowledge about the region etc.

here's an article backing up what i said though:

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/29/world/middleeast/us-identifies-citizens-joining-rebels-in-syria.html?_r=0

quote:

Senior American officials acknowledge that as the conflict in Syria and Iraq drags on, it is becoming harder to track Americans who have traveled there. In many instances, the American law enforcement and intelligence agencies are learning that Americans are there only long after they have arrived.

In the latest example of how difficult it is for the United States to track its citizens, the F.B.I. on Thursday was trying to verify reports that two more Americans had been killed fighting for ISIS in Syria.

yea as i understand it intelligence is a contacts game, but we have burned every single loving bridge in that region right now, all we've got now are our drones/satellites/awacs etc and our ability to watch the internet/phone systems anywhere we want. there ain't no one on the the ground helping us in the middle east right now. if there were, isis wouldn't have succeeded to the degree that it did. we are even having trouble carrying out air strikes at present due to the lack of ground spotters for the strikes. lots of targets can look pretty similar from the sky/from space.

A-10s are being deployed in the Middle East, in a "support role".

quote:

The Pentagon is deploying 300 airmen and 12 A-10 combat jets to the Middle East in early October, according to the Indiana Air National Guard.

The six-month deployment from the 122nd Fighter Wing is not specifically part of President Obama’s fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, but the airmen and jets could provide air support to troops battling ISIS on the ground.
Second Lt. Christopher Myers, public affairs officer for the 122nd Fighter Wing, told The Journal Gazette that the A-10 jets would be “in a support role.”
