The grill is pretty great guys, it's probably the best stat familiar and is real cute. Def top tier, it's my most used familiar on like every speed run.

(H gear, navel ring, jujumask.) I may sniff the merc from now on - that shirt looks sweet. (I also have a pair of plants and the drill.)

Ok, so I tried TT for the first time last night and it feels like hardmode compared to the other classes I've done (SR, DB, AT). I have to eat a lot more hits since it's harder out-moxie everything, I don't have any built-in healing, and the biggest problem by far is that I'm completely MP starved at all times and can't keep up buffs. How do muscle classes generally handle this sort of thing, because it feels like I'm missing something critical (like when I didn't know Steal Accordion was an actual ability until my 3rd AT run). Additionally, what's a decent weapon I can pick up for TT because I don't see anything that super catches my eye? I'm almost tempted to pick up the MP regen whip.

I'm doing a SCHR TT run right now. I have the pliers as a weapon though and a Vibrato sphere in my Buddy Bjorn for MP regeneration. I guess the Work is a Four Letter Sword (classless Smith weapon) might be your best choice? Not sure. The idea of TTs is to be a tank and just soak damage but really unless you have some skills and the MP regen to heal up after every fight (Canneloni Cocoon!) it doesn't work that well. (And yeah, I should have picked up that grill... I'm thinking about just selling my rainbows; the skill is kinda nice but I won't collect more than 7 or 8 and I think I can get more bang for the buck than that.)

Once you have Hero of the Half-Shell, the level 14 TT skill, you become a much better tank. The skill makes your damage reduction take muscle into account instead of moxie whenever you have a shield equipped(assuming your muscle is higher). It reduces the damage you take as a muscle class by A LOT.

Maybe a warbear warscarf is the answer to your MP regen problem. It will cost you about 400k meat though. You'll need 9 warbear accoutrements chunks (google "whositbot" on how to obtain them).

Wait! Didn't know the chunks were tradeable. Just buy those, it's a whole lot cheaper than buying enough whosits! And while you're at it, some of the tradeable warbear items you'll find in the mall may be useful to you, I totally forgot about those.

Yeah, sorry about that. Some of the other warbear items you can assemble with the chunks are nice too. You can also get some helmets and trousers. The "higher tiers" of those items aren't really useful anymore, but the first three items of each (accessories/helmets/trousers) are rather nice, especially for elemental resistances.

Apologies in advance for what could be seen as spammy bullshit. It's not my contest; I just want to increase participation. There's a PVP contest going on once the new PVP season starts on November 1. The contest lasts only two weeks, so it ends before the new challenge path. It's hardcore only, but you can do Heavy Rains ascensions for the contest if you're still getting rainbows or bonus karma. The prizes are all pretty good and it rewards more than just 1st place hill, so with a bit of effort you could probably grab one of the side prizes, assuming you don't want to try for 1st place hill (which is a soul crushing endeavor). The contestant pool is pretty low at the moment. You guys have been doing PVP for the untradable skill or just to sell hairshirts, right? Contest thread

Apparently there is something special going on for Halloween today. Does anyone know what it is? I am halfway through a HC Hard Rain run and want to know if it is worth dropping to participate.

Are they wandering monsters or only out during Trick or Treating?

Wandering monsters. The item they drop if you kill them with the soul knife doesn't do anything yet, but it is going for a lot in the mall.

Sorry about the mistype there. At any rate, I got a bunch of mimeplasm now. I'm not really hard up for meat so I'll hang on to them and see what they do. They are probably like the soul fragments and we'll be able to multi-use them or something when they get around to implementing them.

I haven't played my turns yet today. Can you see the mime monsters while trick-or-treating or just while adventuring normally? I wonder if this is four-shadowing for Crimbo.

IMJack posted:I haven't played my turns yet today. Can you see the mime monsters while trick-or-treating or just while adventuring normally? If they're wandering monsters, they should be appearing on an adventure.php hit, and Halloween no longer uses that. You could probably hit up a zone every 7 or so Halloween block switches to fight one. I think it was in the 30-40 range between appearances.

IMJack posted:I haven't played my turns yet today. Can you see the mime monsters while trick-or-treating or just while adventuring normally? Adventuring normally; they show up every 25-35 adventures, so I did 5 blocks of trick-or-treating in between appearances and didn't miss a one.

Warning: do NOT go trick-or-treating in the cold comforts outfit. The special reward gives you nothing but 1 drunkenness. I tried a bunch of old outfits, got pushed into falling down drunk, and now I'm missing out on the mime items

Is there a public/clan smithing bot that has super-advanced meatsmithing and/or armorcraftiness? The player named 'smithbot' says he does it manually in his profile. As for the why, I'm doing a level 30 Jarlsberg run (in softcore), and I realized I don't have a staph of homophones, but I can't make one myself.
|
# ? Nov 1, 2014 09:05 |

There's no bot since super-advanced requires adventures and it would suck to send an item to a bot and get it back immediately because it's out of adventures.

Nothing for the skills. A number of other things were tested and produced no trophy, though I don't see anything about reaching level 30 so that could maybe be one? I wouldn't bet on that, though.
