they have pretty much every big us chain restaurant there, you don't have to eat any of the natives' foods

Basic rundown of the dish: A piece of bread covered (or soaked) with red pepper sauce and either grilled or deep fried that is then stuffed with potatoes and chorizo. Places here in Dallas choose to gently caress with the recipe and stuff them with other meats, but the real thing (in Mexico City) is just potatoes.

I got a box of this stuff in my cupboard. Not as good as the poo poo that Consuela ladles out of the aqua fresca jugs at your local Panaderia Y Taqueria but it does the trick for when you have a sudden craving.
