In Naples, they're very big on decorating their nativity scenes ("presepe" in italian) with famous figures. So you will see Maradona, Higuain, Benitez etc. among the more classical donkey, Joseph and Mary, and the angel and shepherd etc.

They added De Laurentiis this year:

Based on squad strength Napoli should be the #3 club, what is going wrong down there? I've only seen them vs Roma where they looked awesome.

Inconsistent defending/goalkeeping, they lost Insigne the week after the Roma match, Hamsik/Inler have been poo poo compared to the past, and playing in the Europa League probably doesn't help their league form.

Also they're managed by a fat waiter.

And they're garbagemen who live in garbageland.

Yes, YES

All of that is basically correct. Their defense, like Milan's, is suspect and they leak goals. I read today that they have the most goals conceded from headers in the league, and their defenders aren't exactly tiny. Rafael really can't organize that defense too well and they're constantly switching between a back 3 and back 5.

The front 4 of Higuain, Callejon, Mertens and De Guzman had me scared today but Higuain really only had one good chance and was marked pretty well by Rami and Mexes (who I will admit was excellent today). Also David Lopez is a myth and I think he sucks.

I've missed a lot of awesome matches apparently, and I'm sad that the time difference with the fact that wifi is scarce here (free wifi is illegal in Japan) made it so.

I still believe in Gomez, I know he can come back to his übermensch form sooner or later, it's just heartbreaking to see because I have literally watched him longer than any other player since getting into football.

Also, shame on you Neto. That's a mistake you should never make.

Inter - Celtic
Fiorentina - Spurs
Napoli - Trabzonspor
Torino - Athletic Bilbao
Roma - Feyernoord

Torino is pretty dead, Fiorentina - Spurs could be good. The others should advance but you never know.

It's hard to see a team with that talent and ability fall flat on their face against a mediocre Milan side. I have no idea what's going on, it's like a tale of two Napolis. One week they are world beaters and the next they can't string 3 passes together.

Nah, usually Torino has more support in the city itself. It's completely dwarfed by Juve anywhere else though.

I don't know if that's an Anti-South post or anti-foreigner post. I was talking to a friend of a relative who said that if the majority of the team playing is foreign he will root against them. I asked what about if they both have majority foreign players? He said the one with more Italians. Then before I could finish the third question about same number he said, "whichever team gets the result that would help Milan."

One of my grandfathers tried to get me at an impressionable young age by forcing a Palermo jersey on me and taking me to a game, but this being the mid-90's, the team supported by the rest of my family being in Serie A made it an easy choice.

I have met one (1) Torino fan in the flesh; I estimate that he was in his late 40s. I struck up a conversation with him in a cab and ended up on the receiving end of a solid 10 minute rant about the Italy NT (this was back in the summer) and losing Cerci and Immobile. Nothing he actually said was too crazy (though I didn't understand all the local idiom), but the air he gave off made it one of the most unsettling personal interactions I have ever had with a stranger in my life (and I've been the victim of assault).

It was just Anti-Napoli, actually

Mild reference to an actual fact: Atalanta supporters took passports with them in the 80s when going to Naples to show their convinction that Naples was not, in fact, an italian city. The thing passed when Atalanta shifted towards Lega Nord/Separatist support, but nowadays I'd say that Atalanta's Curva Nord is mostly about smoking weed and causing troubles.

Holebas also got a 1 match ban for giving the finger to the Genoa fans. I actually would like these gestures to get a way heavier penalty, even 4-5 matches bans; these players are supposed to be examples and p.o.s. like him fomenting violence should get figuratively kicked in the teeth.

E: Allegri also banned 1 match for yelling "DAI DAI DAI" too vehemently at the ref.

Things I've learned in Japan:

Harajuku girls do NOT like having their photos taken and will chase you down threatening bodily harm with their plastic wands thing, as two of my coworkers found out.

Kits aren't super expensive. Bought a samurai blue and an "Antlers" team kit (out of FC Tokyo) for about what I would pay in the states. Do buy a size up cause they are loving small.

They can loving drink. I went toe for toe with a guy and he was unfazed. I've been fired and tempered in Europe with its traditions and can do fairly well, this guy was scary.

Porn is censored. Like blurred out via cops style.

A lot of stuff in Japan is mad expensive but the food is super cheap at restaurants.

Japan doesn't bend the rules. They are strict about that poo poo.

They apparently have Internet speeds up to 1G/s.

Some of their sweets and snacks are loving weird. Like squid jerky.

Eating/smoking while walking = bad idea.

DONT TALK ON YOUR PHONE IN PUBLIC TRANSIT.

Nothing crazy interesting but I will say that sushi is pretty much the same here as it is over there. Nigiri at least.

Fun times.
