You need to bring people incrementally over, demanding it happens all at once only ensures it will never happen. The environmental movement is having exactly the same problem. markgreyam posted:I'm going to stare at you intently and not say anything. I'm just a lurker here anyway. Romeo Charlie posted:You know what's discriminating about domestic violence? Domestic violence statistics. As a scientist I am a big fan of statistics, but not so much when it's over a three year period and then the next period records a 15% drop, implying high variability. e; wait, better yet. 38% of domestic homicide victims over a 3 year period and then 33% of domestic violence victims, implying that domestic homicide has dropped more than that. wat ee; and then they throw in non-domestic violence statistics as well just to bulk it out eee; also, 68k->119k is not a 175% rise, it's a 75% rise. Likewise for the 140%. I fully agree that more needs to be done to encourage male victims of domestic violence to come forward and the perpetrators to be caught, but that infographic is horribly bad. It basically looks like it was written by an idiot. eeee; actually, the site that it's from also has links to MRA groups Murodese fucked around with this message at 11:03 on Jan 21, 2015 |

The Guardian is reporting that Federal Government Agencies are reporting journalists who ask too much about asylum seekers to the Federal Police. The agencies are hoping that the Federal Police can lean on the journalists to find where the leaks or who the whistleblowers are. What a bunch of fucks, no matter how low you think the Government can get, they do their best to surprise you.
