evolution is a word that means "change over time". i consider the statement "change over time does not occur" when uttered by a person to be a sign of mental illness, but i also have no interest in forcing people to use words they do not understand, even if said words are simple enough for elementary school students to comprehend

I don't think evolution is totally blind, but that's just one of the many beep boop conclusions about how stuff happens flying around these days. I think everything affects the evolutionary "process" (in quotes because it's not going anywhere in particular, that we can agree on).

the theory of natural selection involves the notion of 'selection for...' which is an intensional process. there are only two kinds of things that have intensions. minds (in the form of intentions) or laws (intensions). the mechanism of natural selection is neither a mind nor a law. while darwin was right about a great many things natural selection involves intensionality and it just can't. it is not a mechanism. sorry
