All of the big 60s/70s historical epics are worth a watch. They're all rad, also of all places on Earth loving Romania also pumped millions of dollars into its movie Industry in the 60s/70s and produced a lot of epics of more or less equal quality. Most of them were about Romanian historical figures like Vlad Tepes or King Mircea and are reasonably historically accurate.

It's on youtube, and it's not even  either because it was all produced under Communist rule and thus the rights to all of it expired after the fall. Anything by 'Sergiu Nicolaescu' is amazing and of equal quality and work to anything Hollywood produced during this period. You also learn that Romania is one of the most balling countries on Earth.

Turner Classic Movies channel has been having a tribute to Oscar month and its been a good month to be unemployed. Its a good thing there was nothing good made from the 80s til now so I could occasionally sleep.

The soundtrack is loving dope too. Just big sweeping themes that probably cemented the sort of music people hear in their heads when they think of the Arabian desert. And tons of old fashioned practical effects. It's one of those movies that shows how practical effects stand the test of time. Also implied gay buttrape

It's very good. Back in the day, directors had to subject their crews to genuine hardship in order to get to get that genuine feeling. Nowadays you simply don't get that-- people just act histrionic in front of greenscreens. Back way back yonder, your star actor had to risk his actual loving life in order to get that shot. Worth it, IMO.

I'ts a great film. It's also like Titanic in that it had a central lead male character who was on screen for the vast majority of the film yet he didn't win an oscar, though the film won a bunch of others. ...yeah.
