No need to make the investment. I don't have plans that require it, just thought it may be a tool to use. Like, if I needed to pass something along, or you needed to contact me about something, like an absence, or secret question you're too embarrassed to ask in public. I don't know why you would do that, but I mean, you could.

hi hello just posting a late as hell character Konstantin Manz Konstantin was a former Jagdkommando back home in Austria, who took the name "hunting command" to heart. He mainly worked as an covert counter-terrorism operative, famous for going to great lengths to uncover plots against his country and not resting for weeks at a time until his mission was finished. What little time he has to himself, he spends throwing or attending lavish parties, living the high life, and womanizing, along with participating in marathons, triathlons, and other tests of athletic merit, using the skills his Jagdkommando training gave him. His two revolvers, Heinrich der Starke (right) and Ernst der Tapfere (left) were custom-made to prioritize stopping power, accuracy, and stability, and have seen him through countless missions and firefights. After being recruited by O.C.A.M., Konstantin tried to make a point by selling the rest of his million-dollar arsenal, though it pained him greatly to do so, except for his prized duo,. Likes: Showing off, working, fine suits, swing music, making money, spending money Dislikes: Lazy days, incompetency, criminals, dead parties, short missions Hobbies: Firearm cleaning and maintenance, covert operations, celebrating, shopping, athletics I'll try to play Konstantin as the lovechild of Jay Gatsby and James Bond, with some other famous secret agents (Jack Ryan, Sam Fisher, Solid Snake, et. all) thrown in for good measure. Very "Tuxedo and Martini" flavored, featuring one liners, flirting with (NPC) femme fatales, and always carrying obscene amounts of money on him at all times. High Concept: Million-Dollar Secret Agent Trouble: Don't Touch The Suit Skills: +4: Marksmanship, Infiltration +3: Alertness, Athletics +2: Stealth, Communication, Decieve, Health: [] [] Stamina: [] [] [] [] Psyche: [] [] Kumaton fucked around with this message at 22:29 on Mar 29, 2015 |

^^^^^ wassup late character buddy Adrian "Spider" Wallace High Concept: (Someone Else's) Life of the Party Trouble: In Harm's Way Skills: +4: Infiltration, Athletics +3: Resolve, Stealth +2: Alertness, Communication, Marksmanship Health: [] [] Stamina: [] [] [] [] [] [] Psyche: [] [] [] [] [] To Director REDACTED Per your request, here is an overview and psychological profile of the asset codenamed "Spider". As you know, it recently came to light that Adrian Wallace declined an offer for a low-level analyst position. Upon follow-up, it was found that not only was the asset nevertheless employed at our European branch, but that the job offer was rejected eight months ago. Our initial investigation corroborates Wallace's explanation, as given in custody: a clerical error led to the letter being delivered not to Mr Adrian Wallace, an Oxford grad student, but to to Ms Adrian Wallace, a petty if ambitious thief previous considered and passed over for accelerated recruitment. With a thoroughness and tenacity that defies explanation, Ms Wallace showed up for the job and promptly set about erasing all traces of her rival from our systems. Asset claims to have restored all of this data in the past week, apparently because "you were taking so bloody long to notice me, I thought I'd never get to point out that I don't actually work here." Asset appears to be motivated not by personal gain or loyalty to OCAM. Wallace is a thrill seeker, and claims her ruse was effectively "an extended audition" for field work. She has been vetted in the basic training scenarios, including the mock interrogation, and is, admittedly, miles ahead of our other infiltration and recon specialists, particularly in social settings. Despite her sterling ability I recommend against your decision to add Wallace to the active roster. She is reckless at best and unpredictable at worst. What little of her former life we can piece together tells of a young woman with multiple tragic losses in her past, and as such she is a ticking time bomb emotionally; she throws herself headlong into danger with little concern for collateral and none for herself. Further, despite her assurances that she would "rather work for the good guys if it's all the same" there is always the chance she will one day decide that our enemies are more exciting. As my protests have been made quite clear, I must assume you see something in the asset that I do not. I've given my professional opinion. The decision, and the consequences, are your responsibility. I will, however, agree with you on one point: The asset is incredibly fetching in a backless gown. Dr. Redacted

Danger-Pumpkin posted:Captain Walker can you elaborate on the High Concept and Trouble for Adrian? What do you have in mind for those? The high concept was meant to reflect the things Adrian is good at: thrill-seeking, pretending to be someone else, incredibly risky courses of action that could be loosely described as "plans". Invoke to pull off something ridiculous when she really shouldn't be able to. The trouble was an extension of that: she's bored senseless by briefings, diplomacy, and peaceful solutions. Compel when the sensible option is just so drat boring that she can't stomach it.

Latest Character Greatest Character, right? Janine Glass High Concept: Death Nerd Trouble: Sociotakupath There are more ways to kill a man then there are to make him smile, it is said. There are certainly a vast number of them, and many are the men and women who seek to master them. Janine Glass, PhD in Cultural Anthropology with an emphasis on intracultural conflict resolution, has met some of them. Killed a few when necessary, saved three from certain death, left two to die (one at sea, another in a particularly nasty part of the Gobi), and briefly considered marrying one. Glass's goal in life is to list in intricate detail every possible way to kill a human being. She is not the first to envision such a project, and many whispered manuals exist that list the totality of bare armed murder. Murder by sword. Murder by poisons. Murder by projectile, by environment, by chance. Janine Glass has one issue with these treatises of bodily harm: they're too drat focused. There is a way, it is said, to kill a man by breaking his heart. To rend a woman with a glance. To commit political suicide in the most literal of ways. Janine will notate all of these, and more. A one stop reference guide to the end of life prematurely. Such a research topic has a tendency to interact with governments and organizations both legal and extra-legal, so Janine is considered a bit of an oddity of note by the covert community. She is not stealthy. She is not politically motivated. She does occasionally spend long hours with noted persons of international interest and occasionally removes them from interest. The invite to consider a place in O.C.A.M was greeted with great joy, as her section on "Murder As Political Expedient" needed a bit of beefing up. Likes: Morrocan cuisine, International Travel, Sudoku, Russian literature Dislikes: Tea, Culture Blindness, the term Soft Sciences, Dean Hinkle who keeps cutting her budget! Hobbies: Janine is a contributing editor to several specific academic journals, focusing on the areas of interpersonal communication and competition. Skills: +4 CQC, Martial Arts +3 Marksmenship, Driving +2 Demolitions, First Aid +1 Strength, Athletics Stress: Health [][][], Stamina [][][], Psyche [][]

I've put a weird amount of thought into the crew, utilized the most incredible science and computations to analyze the individual merits of each applicant, and then drew a bunch of names out of a hat. And the result is that the following four operatives are going to be War Buddies together! Lt. Alicia Silvers, (Waffleman_) Giovanni Pirrazo (Mr Tastee) Agent Layla Pearce (thelazyblank) Psycho (thatbastardken) Remember that War Buddies not only fight together, they often die in unison. So get practicing your synchronized keeling-over, and be ready to report to the briefing room when summoned. As for the rest, you're all on reserve duty. If an agent falls in the line of duty, goes AWOL, I am incredibly sleepy, and have a mission to organize, so we'll get to the next stage of character generation as soon as I hear from the four of you, and also wake up.

Sandymane posted:Could you let us standby players know the order you plan on calling us up? I chose the main group based on what I felt would be a good balance of skills, and (much) more importantly, personalities. So calling up reserves would really depend on who/what needed a replacement. For example, Kari would probably get called in if I decided the team needed a solid Marksman, Demolitionist, or a darker kind of personality, to shake up the group dynamic. Sorry that's not a very precise answer. thelazyblank posted:Hooray. I'm still interested. That's actually what I'm working on now. And since the gang's all here, let's get going. Phase trio: O.C.A.M. is a fairly young organization, with a roster of field agents barely in the double digits. The U.N. Secret Security Council has not yet deployed them on a major operation. It was, however, founded with a particular aim: to take action as an extra-national intelligence gathering and espionage utility, against the rising tide of extra-national military, criminal, and corporate organizations, whose existence and goals may threaten the stability of international peace. At it's heart, O.C.A.M. is an active peace-keeping, security, and intelligence apparatus. To reflect this aim, O.C.A.M. employs a different mission structure than traditional Black Operations, or Counter Terrorist units. So, what was your prior assignment in the field? Were you with O.C.A.M. at the time? Were you a Codenamed Agent? A Support Element? How did it go? Danger-Pumpkin fucked around with this message at 23:39 on Mar 30, 2015 |

Lt. Silvers was a Front-Line Soldier during her Army tenure, especially useful in situations where many weapons could not be brought in. She served a tour of duty in Iraq and has been assigned on several smaller missions, including aiding in the Borginian Revolution, where she lead a unit in taking down the despotic tyrant Grover Chibayo, earning her a Distinguished Service Medal.

I should ask, just to be safe, but does everyone understand the Phase Trio step? It's written a little confusingly, but I want to make sure we all know what's going on. You're basically all going to do what Waffleman_ did, and write a super brief summary of your character's last big adventure. Then you'll use that story to choose another aspect for your character. Once everyone has that, I'll pass the story on to a second player. The second player will add their own character to the first player's story, as a supporting character, foil, complicating factor, etc. The second player will use their contribution to the first player's story to choose a new aspect for themselves. Then we do this one more time, so that every character has their own story, and everyone has contributed to two other stories. The end result is that you should have three new aspects, in addition to your High Concept and Trouble.

Agent Pearce was working on a joint mission with a handful of EU countries, loosely connected and lead by O.C.A.M. Operation Coastal Lightning was started to try to figure out what was going on with a secret project worked on by the Theta Energy Consortium. Layla was one of the field agents on the task, Codename: Storm Petrel for this mission, where she went in impersonating a RAF defense contractor to get more information. The first week was not very fruitful, with a lot of near misses and fighting over whether there was actually anything worth finding here at all. Layla helped track down the first piece of the puzzle not a day later, noticing a bunch of unusual schematics that were willfully incomplete. The parts put together would make a generator that would hold extremely large amounts of energy but would be forced to discharge it at a dangerous rate. And then began the fun part.. ----- Not sure what the aspect is going to be, since I'm pretty sure she's not going to go with the Solid Snake style codename as time goes. Then again, she might.

You don't have to choose right away. If nothing jumps to mind immediately you can always pick something after someone else adds their part to the tale, or after the game really starts. The most important thing here is that you've established yourself, a little of the setting, and and a connection of some kind with the other PCs.

P.Sy.C.H.-01 Field Deployment Log - Date REDACTED "Director, I know you are keen to intervene in this crisis but I have to remind you that O.C.A.M. has limited assets in the region and almost no support would be available from our partner agencies. Any agent we send in would have to survive the defenses that cult has in place which include, ahem, 'armed guards, booby-traps, and...is this accurate? It is? And nerve gas dispensers along the perimeter. Add in the inhospitable nature of the surrounding jungle, the unstable local authorities, and the risk to human life becomes to great for us to risk sending one agent in after another. I'm sorry. End transmission." "Dammit. If we don't get that agent out before those cultists torture the transmission codes out of them it'll compromise operations on three continents! Well, fine. If the council won't let me risk a human life then I'll just have to work something else out. Dr Oldman, prep the robot for immediate field deployment. Outfit it for...yes. Yes, I know it hasn't been vetted for field use. We're out of options. Outfit the unit for a HALO insertion into hostile territory. Mission is hostage rescue or...or termination if rescue is impossible." OPERATION: STEEL EAGLE As P.Sy.C.H.-01 was hurtling towards the ground, it had time to think about the strange day it was having. All that had been scheduled was routine maintenance but instead it had been given a real mission - to rescue (or kill) an O.C.A.M agent cut off and possibly captured by a doomsday cult holed up on an island off the Pacific coastline of South America. As the variables of the parachute drop and radio chatter from the rapidly disappearing plane occupied some processing power, it started to test the bounds of the orders it was given. 'Terminate captured agent' started to slide down the priority list. By the time the 'chute opened, slowing the terminal descent to a merely bone-shattering speed, P.Sy.C.H.-01 was confident that no soldier would be left behind today. A few hopeful mosquitoes settled briefly on the android's waterproof outer shell as it began to march through the jungle to the cult compound. Phase two: Giovanni; the Cohdopian International Smuggling Ring was directly involved in the events of the Borginian revolution. Something about ink? How did your investigation of their activities help or hinder Lt. Silvers' mission to depose Grover Chibayo from power? Psycho; when Agent Storm Petrel's findings were being transmitted into O.C.A.M. databases, you were able to accidentally intercept them. What was it about the Theta Energy Consortium research that struck a nerve with you? What did you seek out Storm Petrel to ask her about after the mission's conclusion? Layla; when the famous detective Giovanni Pirrazo captured MI5's double agent - the world renowned thief, Cameron San Fierro - it seemed that the secret location of King John's other missing treasure was about to fall into the hands of the Italian police! Did you manage to keep this national secret safe from prying eyes? How so? Alicia; when the fanatical Cult of Ogún captured you on a mission off the coast of Isla Isabella, and tried to steal O.C.A.M. intelligence secrets out of your mind via hypnosis, you were suddenly rescued by a robot soldier. How the heck did you two escape from the cult's deadly volcano temple? And how did you avoid death at the hands of the infamous Voodoo Sniper "Mr. Hit Maker?" Oh, man, Isla Isabella. That was not too long after I started working with O.C.A.M. I had heard about ol' Psycho, but that was my first time actually seeing him. Getting outta there was no picnic either. Even though them taking my guns away when they took me was no problem, there were still too many guys for me to take on on my own. Even though this was my first time working with Psycho, I've always been good at synchronizing with fellow soldiers and with The Power of Teamwork, he provided backup while I fought my way out of there. And as for Mr. Hit Maker? It turns out that when you're busy trying to out-snipe a robot sniper, you tend not to notice someone sneaking up behind you and breaking your arm, heh!

Cameron San Fierro, part criminal genius, part double agent, part giant thorn in my side. The woman can't seem to stay out of trouble and it's always my job to go and rescue her from whatever nonsense she's gotten himself into. She thinks it has some sisterly connotations but I would rather be doing anything but saving her. However, she knows enough secrets that she'd be a bigger problem talking to anyone else. Luckily, being the World Traveler that I am, I managed to play to most of what the Italian police force thought a high-powered lawyer would look like and managed to meet up with Cameron. That's when I met Giovanni for the first time. Giovanni was the only one suspicious of who I was, and we had an extensive talk about practicing international law. Luckily, by the time he found out, I'd already given Cameron her lockpicks and the way out of the police station. Hope he's still not sore about that. Giovanni's a good person, but I was just doing my job at the time. The Lore Bear fucked around with this message at 03:01 on Apr 1, 2015 |

The data from Operation: Coastal Lightning about the Theta Energy Consortium's reactor research was interesting, but not as interesting as one of the names of the leading researcher - Dr Allan Capek, the unstable genius involved in the development of P.Sy.C.H-01 who had disappeared and taken vast amounts of the company's research with him, was now implicated in a plot to murder leading scientists at an alternative energy conference. Agent Storm Petrel stopped the reactor from detonating but Dr Capek escaped. When Storm Petrel returned to the O.C.A.M HQ I had a number of questions for her about the encounter, but one in particular she was unable to answer: does my origin as a Child of Mad Science inevitably make me a threat to humanity? Or can I choose my own path?

Ah, yes. The Cohdopian International Smuggling Ring. They were sending shipments of supplies to Chibayo disguised as squid ink. Grover claimed to have a love for squid ink pasta and would often order a shipment of ink before any big event. Generally the supplies would be weapons and other tools of war considered unethical or otherwise illegal. But every once in a while they would just be squid ink. In my investigation of the ring, I utilized my smooth-talker skills to impersonate a mafioso assigned to oversee the delivery, with the intent to gain information on the . As it turned out, that very shipment was attacked by Lt. Silvers' team! I was able to help them, but was shot in the arm by her before I was able to tell her who I was. She told me it was an accident, but I believe the only accident was that she aimed in the wrong place. I still provided her aid, and this was able to acquire the intel I needed to take them down.
