I don't really have an issue with the term as a neutral descriptor of one cultural taking something from another, but this loaded manner in which it is being used as innate negative is just a way of trying to tap into the moral outrage of events like the suppression of black artists for the benefit of people bitching about poo poo like westerners wearing saris, which feels about as much of a legitimate social justice issue as northern racists saying black men shouldn't play hockey.

But I'm going to go ahead and conclude you don't have any evidence that people have provided evidence, rather than just asserting, that the term is uselessly vague.
