Probably just a broken/loose wire on the lug. If it was a fuse or something you would have lost all flippers.

Domus posted:

Well, it could have been a flipper fuse. But yeah, much more likely to be a wire falling off a lug. Could also be that the flipper opto died. So look at the flipper solenoid first for a loose wire, then go to switch test and make sure the button is working. If it's not that, start looking for a blown fuse in the head. Go to flipper test, and see if it's just the flipper power, or the flipper hold too.

This is exactly what it was. Thanks!

Is there a way to secure those wires more? Not sure what the name of it is but it's a small female connector that falls out (there are 3 in total, only one falls out). The other two seem more secure but I feel like I can pull the other out when I want to. Maybe it's supposed to be like that though.

Edit: Just had it fall out again. How do you secure those things?

Tried playing with the lighting settings.
I still think it looks pretty unpolished and half assed. Hopefully this being a beta, it'll get better by leaps and bounds but I highly doubt it. Usually when something gets released to a public beta, it's pretty close to completion and it's just bug hunting.

One thing that bothered me was the floor. In the default lighting it works, but when you start turning the lights down, you get that pre-rendered reflective hot spot from a bright light. I know it's minor but it drove me nuts. I tried TZ and yeah, the lighting was pretty awful. The clock looks so bad. That much light shouldn't bleed through the graphics.

Bride was also pretty bad. Everything is super washed out even with the room lights down and the table lights up.

Can you solder it? It even looks like someone has poorly tried to do that already.

I'm terrible at soldering and was hoping crimping would be a good alternative the last time I replaced a coil. A few pinside threads later, and the general consensus seems to be solder all day. There's probably no way the jolting that thing gets will ever stop popping it off unless it's soldered in place.

Cut off the crimped ends and strip some fresh wire. Then clean the old solder off the lugs. Feed the wires through the holes and solder them in place.

If you're going to own pinball machines, you're going to get good at soldering.

Very true. You can solder those connectors straight to the lugs of the solenoid, if that makes you more comfortable. Think of it as metal glue. Just make sure you tuck some old rags under and around the solenoid before you try. It's very easy to drip solder on stuff when you're a beginner, and it can cause some bad problems with shorts.

Its bad in the PS4 release too. The fake room floor is always too bright. Heck, I wish we could just turn off the fake room altogether, or at least change its lighting separately.

Have they stopped supporting Pinball Arcade on the PS3? I haven't gotten a PS4 because I currently don't have the disposable income to get one, and it appears as if they're reasonably up to date. The most recent table for the PS3 version is Phantom of the Opera. The OUYA version is more up to date :(

That's a pretty good lineup of SS though. gently caress any incarnation of Fireball but Gorgar, Flash, Centaur, and Space Invaders are all fun games. I hear good things about Fathom but never played it. Looks like a BK2K down near the end which is another good one, not sure what the other two are of those last three. I'd be happy playin them there pins.

Firepower is the one to the left of Gorgar but I'm still not sure about the one against the far wall.

They actually passed on the lisence for Alien after taking a meeting with Fox, then later had legal action brought against them for unlicensed use. According to Paul Faris they never showed them images of the Alien during the meeting and his Space Invaders image was inspired by HR Giger's artwork, same stuff Ridley Scott was studying during Alien development.

I imagine he did the artwork thinking Bally would take the license and when they passed on it he just tried to repurpose it. Either was it looks cool as hell with infinity lights around it.

Completely talking out my rear end here, but just feel like mentioning that the table came out a couple weeks before the movie hit the theaters. I assume they weren't that bothered by tying it into Space Invaders instead of a movie that wasn't a blockbuster yet. Prior to Pac-Man, Space Invaders was king poo poo of video game mountain.

Edit - nevermind. Read the project date for the table on IPDB as the release date. Definitely came out after the movie was big.
Second part kinda semi stands - Space Invaders shouldn't have been too bad a license to fall back on.
