I still don't understand why some people hit like this. You can take him out of the play by hitting body to body and accomplish your goal. There are a few players that play the "My feet were technically still on the ice as I launched my body at his head" game and even if it's not technically illegal, it's still unnecessarily dangerous and dirty.
