Hawks would've won if they could bury wide-open net scoring chances, but nope. Also Cumiskey is real bad. If losing Rozsival ends up being the reason we get knocked out, that would just be the worst.

With Q at the helm, Hawks are apparently in games 1-3 30-30 and games 4-7 40-17. They usually are slow to start off the series. It's probably when Scotty has seen enough and comes down and talks to Q about how things should be.

I don't what game SAS watched but on my lovely Russian stream, Bickell and Sharp played like whatever came out of Bishop's rear end in game 2. The passing of the torch from the Hawks to Bolts.

If Oduya is broken the Hawks are in trouble?

Playing the Stanley Cup finals with 3 defensemen your coach trusts and 3 which are good for 5-7 minutes a game (and still find time to gently caress up) doesn't sound that fun when your opponent is running 7 guys, 5 of whom are, like, very good to good top four material.

I'd rather have Oduya out and force Q to roll 4 offensive lines going balls to the wall. Enough of these 2-1 and 3-2 games, I want some 6-5 ones.

quote:

The NHL playoff beard has become a tradition for hockey players. It's more superstition than anything else, but it's something fun the players take part in. It's a perk of making the playoffs.

Most fans see no problem with hockey stars growing out their facial hair, but NBC Sports chairman Mark Lazarus is not most fans. He's enjoying the growth of hockey on his network, but not so much the bearded chins and faces that come along with it.

“The players won't like this, but I wish they all would stop growing beards in the postseason,” Lazarus said, via the Chicago Tribune. “Let's get their faces out there. Let's talk about how young and attractive they are. What model citizens they are. (Hockey players) truly are one of a kind among professional athletes.

“I know it's a tradition and superstition, but I think (the beards do) hurt recognition. They have a great opportunity with more endorsements. Or simply more recognition with fans saying, 'That guy looks like the kid next door,' which many of these guys do. I think that would be a nice thing."

Lazarus is probably part of the 1 percent of the population that doesn't appreciate the playoff beard. It's such a tradition that it has its own Wikipedia page. Even the video game NHL 16 included playoff beards.

“I know there are some traditions and superstitions that you can’t mess with,” Lazarus said. “But this is one tradition I could do without.”

According to the Tribune, Lazarus said he's talked with NHL officials, the NHL Players Association and even players in individual discussions to request shaves. They didn't want any part of his ridiculous request.
I'd like to point out at this time that game 4 is on NBCSN, because NBC literally would rather have a rerun of American Ninja Warrior from like a loving week ago.

But it's the beards, that's the problem

They do it in a vain attempt to get people to watch NBCSN. If the finals are a sweep one year the cup won't even be awarded on NBC. Way to go NHL.

If you promote the players throughout the year and just not playoff time, people will see most of them with little or no facial hair. Then when you get whatever the gently caress you're trying to get with that, you explain poo poo like playoff beards

I also think it's hilarious that the league basically told him to gently caress off

Hossa's contract is so low dollar-wise relative to what a ufa costs that even if he declines hard he'll still be a deal.

Re: playoff beards... They're keeping them year round now anyway. Anyone know what Radko Gudas looks like beardless?
