A couple of the instructors I used to drive with had that and used it frequently. Student's car breaks, free tow to wherever. One time the guy was tired and didn't feel like driving the 2-3 hours home so he had it towed to his house. One had my E30 towed when the aux fan munched the radiator on track. There's probably some number of tows or miles a year you can't go over but it's nice to have.

Rhyno posted:

They told me they would only cover $75 of towing but when I sent in the invoice for the 928 tow job they paid the whole amount ~$140. May depend on who you talk to and what type of mood they are in at the time.

AAA is way cheaper and much more flexible. AAA covers the member, regardless of who owns the car you're in. State farm limits the distance towed to something much lower.

Sealed Air Corp, which developed Bubble Wrap in the 1950s, said the new version will be called iBubble.
iBubble will use up around one 50th of the space as the old product as it will be shipped flat.
Consumers and retailers like Amazon will have to use a pump to inflate it to the amount they desire.
Traditionally Bubble Wrap has shipped in massive pre-inflated rolls which take up a lot of space.
Sealed Air Corp hopes that the new version will appeal to consumers who are space conscious.
Bubble Wrap was originally created in 1957 by the co-founders of Sealed Air who were looking for a new kind of wallpaper when they realised that their invention could be used for packaging.
Sealed Air Corp said that the traditional Bubble Wrap will still continue to be sold.
iBubble costs less than the normal version but businesses still have to buy a pump, which costs £3,500

Hahaha gently caress you, Sealed Air Corp.

E: This kinda smells like an unsourced hoax, honestly. iBubble? Stupidly expensive proprietary pump? Surely no one can be that stupid.

I own a LG washer and dishwasher. I find LG more reliable honestly, and spare parts are insanely cheap compared to other brands when dealing with out of warranty repairs at least too.

That said, it's all much of a muchness, I would buy a samsung fridge if I had the money for a new large side by side one (depending on model - twin cool only) because I know the devils.
What matters most is buy something that has local backup, repairers and spare parts stocking to where-ever you live, or a retailer that will exchange/replace things that fail under warranty .
I'm comfortable with either because I know how they work, and would edge towards LG first unless samsung's price and features were heaps better E: and I knew there was a local repairer that could fix them and have spare parts in a day or so - it's not always the case though.

Tesla came trough btw, big time. My dealership pulled some strings with tesla motors. The one they had a line on was lacking some of the options and the wrong colour (black). but it seems a dealership in northern denmark had just taken delivery of a dealer demo with the right colour, all the stuff i wanted and even some more. its a new car, they havent even removed the plastic covering and its got 0 kms on the clock. because i am probably the first customer to buy two p85ds in six months they are eating the cost of the options i would not have ordered and have sorted with my insurer that they are basically borrowing me the car until the insurer pays them directly. I even got a mail from Elon Musk(s pr people, no doubt) wishing me a healty recovery and some other niceties. I guess thats what you get when you spend 250k usd with an upstart. really impressed with Tesla, and even my insurer. The insurance dude looked over the car today, and agreed its fubar.

I talked to one of the FD guys who responded to the accident. apparently the Audis engine entered the cabin :gonk:

That's great. I mean, as far as they're concerned, it's another sale, the insurance claim etc isn't their problem, and if there's an opportunity to hold onto you as a sure thing, I can see why they'd want that, and especially if it might pass the goodwill along.

The video I'm thinking of, seemed to occur near Foxhole. Car's left side gets up on the kerbs, rear slides, and it ends up flying sideways up the hill, nose to the Armco for what seems like about 150 feet.

The fact that people are getting riled up about the CSA flag and declaring "Yes, this is the hill I want to die on" is the most :psyduck: thing in the world. It's clear demonstration of the latent hatred and lack of comprehension that a nonzero number of people have in the US.
