Maybe I am just weird but I think it's rude to smoke/drink/eat in an official situation like that from either side. I had a guy bring mcdonalds to the office the other day to eat while he filled out a statement about being assaulted and it just seemed rude.

Thinking of applying to my local police department at the ripe old age of 30. The starting salary is pretty competitive and I'm honestly, sincerely looking for a career where I feel I can make a positive impact on society and my community. I have a bachelors in linguistics, am a pretty calm and level headed person. Is this a terrible idea? Am I too old to make the transition into a career as a cop?
