Yes. I used to play this when I went over to my cousin's house. Great game, and great run so far (spike's my favorite commentator), although I set my timer to wake up before this, and it's 20 minutes in as I awoke. Dang schedule.

Also, where is Blueglass during this? This explains the lack of joviality during this run!

Its amazing how Spike gives such in depth commentary live like this, while playing the game.

His hands ARE the gloves. That's like asking what would your hands look like if someone took them off.

Edit: Agree that it's amazing how difficult this game is. This was my first PS1 game, I probably got it because of the cute visuals but god drat is it hard for an 8 year old.

That's what console tech needs to have ready.

You run ps1 games on ps2 because fast disc speed loading times.

The real fast strat is on psp over psn but not many people do that.

Quick answer is "not for this event", but I agree and might be something we can do in the future.

I guess during the Silent Hill 2 run, one of the developers was going to call in, but they couldn't get it setup in time.

I've definitely heard him in there, too. His laugh is super recognizable.

Also, I'm the nerdiest dude and took a day of vacation tomorrow so that I can catch the Mega Man and Castlevania blocks tonight.

Good run, good runner, yellow Shirt melted into the couch, and commentary put me to sleep, which was good because I had to work in the morn.

It certainly isn't boring if you played the game. The game is stupidly hard, so seeing the game destroyed is amazing.

Wanna know the worst part about Mr. Dark? In origins you find out he literally died off camera and the teensie magician is just a pupil of his filling in.

Yeah that's an overstatement, but I do agree that after having played it through the whole way, seeing a runner ping-pong around between event flags that normally eat up hours of in-game time is pretty entertaining. :munch:

Yyyeah. Whoever's doing audio this time is not doing a particularly good job. Game audio is sometimes too quiet, runner tells us to enjoy the music but we can't hear it, audience reactions get muted etc.
I seriously hope they aren't gonna gently caress up the Roundabout run and have ludicrously low game audio for that, because if you do a run showing the cutscenes it would be good if we could hear them.
I mean, audio has been a problem at past GDQs too but this time it's particularly bad. Doesn't bother me as long as I can hear what's relevant but overall the audio is pretty poorly managed and inconsistent.

For just being thrown into it at the last second the guy did awesome under those circumstances. Finished like 15 minutes early. The couch was useless but the runner had some decent commentary for not practicing at all. I'd want to see him him do it again next year with some prep time.
