Has Leslie always been nearby when someone goes all weird? Like, we meet Leslie shortly after we find Officer Redshirt having a midnight snack at the beginning of the game, and he's right on the other side of the door when Sebastian starts losing it, but I can't remember if he shows up around when Joseph gets hit.

Leslie's there when the city gets wrecked, we're chasing Leslie once we find Officer Redshirt, we find Leslie with the doctor in tow before we get tossed into blood lady's first encounter...Leslie's with Kidman on the church steps before we fight the dog but after we get inside the church he's close by and then WHOOP TIME TO FLY THROUGH A FLOOR. Leslie was right next to us when we fought the Keeper for the first time. Chasing Leslie and the doctor into the mansion, where a lot of goofy poo poo happened. When the doctor got smashed into paste. When we fell through the floor again after everything mysteriously stopped when Kidman was going to kill him. Yeah, I'd call that a track record.

I love that. A grenade AND an arm in the lost and found. That was some good strategy drawing that bathroom lurker into the explosives. Kind of a dick move they don't set off a chain reaction and you have to waste ammo. Thank gently caress they don't have you dip your arm into a toilet a la Silent Hill.

Y'know, I never thought about the horror movie posters, but while they reference some common horror ideas, nonetheless, there are movies and stories they could be based on. Black Hair Curse, for example, could easily be linked to The Ring. The White Fog could be either The Mist or The Fog. The Pig, funnily enough, is most likely a reference to "Pig Blood Blues" by Clive Barker. The only one I've had difficulty working out what, specifically, it could be a reference to is the Zom-Bomb one. Mainly because... Jeez, there's a looooot of zombie flicks out there. Why would I think these are references to specific movies, rather than ideas within the genre? Because of the things they have in common. For all that all of these have suspense in them, they're often shock horror, with the ol' red dyed corn syrup being splattered fairly viscerally at times. It's p. cool either way. There's also one poster which I think is mostly in loading screens and only one location in the actual game called Serbian Psycho  Probably a reference to "American Psycho" and "A Serbian Film". (This was hilarious to me since I was streaming the game with two more Serbs when I first saw it.)

I still haven't seen it out of protest, because now in addition to answering questions like "Isn't it really cold in Serbia?" and "Isn't there a war going on there?", I have to explain that "No, it isn't like in 'A Serbian Film'." But from what I can tell, it's the perfect movie for "snuff film fans".

I read a plot summary for Serbian Film out of interest, and I actually rolled my eyes: this is the most "going for shock value because there's barely anything else" film I've ever heard about. I thought it's some movie about tragedies of war but nope, it's nothing
