Those were our stop-over plans between Murray and Jacob Eason, and all have been various degrees of bust ranging from "vaguely serviceable backup" in Ramsey to "I think he might be dead now" in LeMay. It's not as if these are random dudes, either; LeMay had all manner of hype when he left high school early and Bamal was interested in Ramsey for a spell.

oh no no bro oh no
Sooners looked good on Saturday, and I finally didn't get sunburned!

- I don't remember ever seeing that many flags in a single game, ever.
- Mayfield is the real deal. 320 yards passing against one of the best pass defenses in the country is enough to assuage my reservations about the shift to air raid this year. Wish we hadn't stagnated with the passing game during the second half as much as we did.
- O line hasn't been great at making holes for the backs. Perine only getting 65 yards all game bums me out.
- D line continues to not look as tight as they should be, broken coverage, etc.

Overall, I'm cautiously optimistic about the season.

This. It historically hasn't mattered how bad Texas or OSU might be in a given season, they almost always show up to play OU.

I wonder what he did.

Lock played better than Mauk but they were super careful all day against a bad defense. It'll be interesting to see how he handles/they gameplan for a better one.

It wasn't even a "call." It was misplaced field markers. And it didn't even decide the outcome of the game. It was a 3rd down play and K State gave up a 25 yard completion the very next snap. Why is this such an injustice?

e: Whats sad is that Mason Rudolph went 10/14 on passes on 3rd and 4th downs, all resulting in 1st down conversions. But no one will remember that, just :argh: refs!

It was 3rd & 23. K-State gave up 19 yards and Oklahoma State was given a 1st down rather than it being 4th and 4. Oklahoma State scored on that drive and ended up winning by 2. That's... kind of a big deal.

Wait, what? Did they even measure it? Maybe in addition to being racist against Texas the Big 12 officials are ageist against Kansas State.

WE ARE SMART
You just kinda have to accept that bad officiating decisions are a part of the game. Even if refs are right about 99.5% of their calls, if it's a one score game then one bad decision can swing the result one way or the other. Over a long enough period of time, you'll get as many bad decisions in your favor as you do against you. Doesn't make it not sting, but I'm not sure if anything can really be done about it. At least not until technology advances to the point where we can replace refs with computers.

The current TFF narrative is that Texas hasn't gotten any calls against them until this season.

It happened in the first half of the game (as opposed to a 4th quarter double-:flag: against Texas), and OSU would have almost certainly converted the 4th and 4 on that drive (with a 25 yard pass completion). Ok State scored 2 more touchdowns and a field goal after that to win the game. I don't see how it was that big of a deal.

Yeah agreed. Howard getting hurt was a real bummer, he's been really good this year and when he tried to play through whatever the injury was against OSU he couldn't get anything. And their backup QB is fast but he can't pass the ball well at all. Sudfeld isn't great but when he got hurt last year they went completely to poo poo, even with Coleman playing at a Heisman caliber level.
