Ask the average American which country do they think has the most Muslims and that'd explain it.

Next time somebody asks where the moderate muslims are, just point to the Kurdish forces kicking the poo poo out of IS. Hell, there's a reason IS has started to move South and attack more Iraqi targets: because they were getting their asses handed to them in the North.

Am I a manipulative abuser in real life, or do I just roleplay one on the Internet for fun? You decide!
Often the argument is that Muslims should be profiled because "all terrorists are Muslims" which I guess is just like buying a bag of M&Ms and throwing them away instead of eating them, because they look like poisoned M&Ms would.

Can you tell me how you got this conclusion? Because it seems mighty hard to do that when you restrict the amount of nuclear material and its associated tech a country can use.

Do you mean to say some of those cardboard signs may have been LYING!

I don't have figures, but I'm pretty sure illegal immigrants have high rates of homelessness. After all, they are guys with no prospects in their home country coming over with the clothes on their back and maybe some meager savings, if they didn't spend it all on a people-smuggler. If they get into trouble they have *no* backup. An injury or illness could easily put them on the streets. Tickets back home are costly, and they might not be able to go back.

Interestingly, it actually more than pays for itself to get homeless vets off the streets when you consider the medical costs associated with homelessness.

I suspect that it'd be a similar value for non-veteran homeless.

Obviously, fiscally responsible politicians are chomping at the bit to get in on this.

Hey it's this old small government plan again.

A couple years ago, there was someone in this very thread who did some math and figured out it would cost about half as much to give every single school-aged child healthcare coverage than it would be to hire former soldiers to patrol schools. It would also have the benefit of saving more lives once you figure in the number of children that die every year from lack of coverage.

I posted up the math and such on Facebook and got someone who honestly said "What about the veterans though?"

Anyone have the study that showed, long-term, one of the most cost-effective ways to reducing homelessness and the societal costs that comes from it was just to provide the homeless with houses at government expense?

If this were truly analogous instead of saying "we're investigating to find out why this happened and implement new safety equipment and procedures to try and help prevent it again" which is basically what they're doing, it would say "Look, there's no point in investigating or trying to prevent this in the future, if a train is going to catch fire then it's going to find a way to catch fire and there's nothing we can do about it so we're just going to keep the trains the way they are."

Actually, the fertilizer mix he used is pretty heavily regulated now. Anyone trying to buy bulk quantities of ANFO without a very good reason is going to set off alerts at every police department in a hundred-mile radius, and will shortly get a visit from some friendly men with the letters 'ATF' on their jackets.
