They probably wasted a whole year's worth of development to figure this out. This is my suspicion as well, and the fact that they seem to be reversing course now is kindof cold comfort since we don't know what other terrible decisions were made early on that are going to be expensive to fix.

Regardless of how true or bullshit any of the Escapist / DSmart / DSmart's Illuminati of Goons from the Center of the Earth stuff may or may not have been, Erin's nose-to-the-grindstone reaction is exactly the route that should have been taken by the entirety of the CIG management team that so easily overreacted / misplayed their hands upon external media pressure. It's not exactly a leap of imagination to guess that it can be lovely to work at a game dev shop, and it's already pretty clear Sandra Roberts is really weird, so it's not like anything particularly revolutionary came up. It could have blown over more than it did.

We read that poo poo every day. Why CIG thought they have to not just bear the brunt of prodding but try to prove themselves exceptional and above any reproach is weird. It's a gigantic fuckup.

This is in spite of the fact that there is currently a $2500 package where you get an Idris along with like 6 other ships. "Yes," says the grey marketer, "But that picture of a capital ship doesn't have a picture of a rail gun attached." Rest assured the grey market is fine.

Sandi expresses sorrow, not anger, about the lies asserted about her. This is an interesting interview-- given that she's said very little about the Escapist story so far. She denies all characterizations of her actions and behavior. Sandi seems to deny that any anonymous CIG source said anything about her, expresses sorrow about the state of humanity. From her opening statements, she is apparently is accusing The Escapist of just making up their sources altogether. Yet later comments describe a very vocal minority. Talking about the Escapist article: quote:"In terms of the personal attacks, I would say anger isn't really the response that I had to that. I would say, seeing all the lies was more like, I was just really sad. I wasn't angry about it because none of this is true, I think it just made me really-- disappointed. In humanity is general. Because... on a lot of levels. Because, there's 'supposed' sources saying this, which isn't true, then there's journalists publishing it, which isn't true. There's like a whole level of humanity that I'm like, 'Wow- really? You really want... I mean, I I just. Ugh. It was, I just, I just remember being really-- sad, thinking, 'Wow, I've done all this work, to to give to people, and yet- that is what you get back, from, from a very vocal minority. However it's so extreme." "The reality is, I haven't taken a holiday since I started." Star Citizen helped someone to quit smoking (22:50). Sandi is excited to recount how much money the former smoker saved by no longer buying cigarettes, which prompts the host to helpfully note, "That's like 17 Idrises..." TRUTH: Whether you spend money on CIG or CIGs, you are wasting your money. But CIGs at least give you a nicotine kick. She complains that she's been the only marketing employee at CIG for three years, which is itself a lie-- she's had help from other people, she just keeps firing them. I'll edit in any other interesting bits if I hear any. G0RF fucked around with this message at 22:47 on Oct 12, 2015 |

The name wasn't "Vindicator" but "Sabre" but the fluff text kept calling it "POTATO" which makes people think it was changed last minute. The price was also not $175, but the low low price of $170. Everything else was pretty much spot on.
