Remember that season Ovechkin had a 65 points in 78 games and everyone called him washed up and done? Good Canadian kid Crosby has 67 points in his last 78 games.

Flames looked great last night. Brodie is so good. Bennett is making Backlund look like a top 6 forward. That poke'em goal Johnny and Monahan connected on made me hard.

Hand Knit posted:Ovechkin completely remade his game. Ovechkin had a down year in 2010-11 mainly due to bad luck. Crushed the league in SOG but shot like 9% as opposed to his career average of like 12.5%. In 2011-12 Hunter legitimately made him worse by playing him like 14 minutes a night and as a result it was the only year he didn't lead the league in SOG. He played poorly for his standards, but it mainly had to do with Hunter being a bad coach.

There was a good article on it earlier in the season/offseason. For his early career, Ovechkin created most of his offence by entering the zone with speed in a 1-on-1 and then cutting to the middle to create space for a shot. Eventually defencemen and coaches adapted/started cheating, and he eliminated the cut from his game entirely for a few years. He's back to using it again, but only as one option as opposed to his main approach.

Yeah Demko has been killin' it so far this year, that is good Hunter Shinkaruk has also been lighting it up in Utica, too, (9 goals in 11 games) which is a good sign because he was treading on bust territory

Need a reverse angle to see if the elbow hit him or if that was just a follow-through and McCann brained himself with his own hands on the glass/squished his arm or something.

They're just saying that because it's a kid. If it was Sbisa getting hit there they'd have been cheering him on. Carry on with your life.
