I think it's pretty expensive cause the technology is so new and there's no real defined market for who's going to buy it yet so they're probably producing it relatively small scale. If it gets popular and they can ramp up production then by the time the future models roll out it will probably be more in line with what you'd expect. I can't say I'm that interested in them yet, it seems cool conceptually but with very little content ready. I'll wait a couple years to see if it takes off or flops.

There is a market for $800 monitors and $150 keyboards. There is absolutely a market for a $650 VR experience. A lot of people will spend almost half that on headphones alone. I'm sorry op, they will sell great at $650 even though next years model will be cheaper and better.
