Hey kids, have you ever wanted to do cool science experiments in the comfort of your own home? Stuff like maybe filling one glass with water from another? A toiler paper calculator? Maybe poo poo your pants as hard as possible? Or maybe, you followed instructions and set up a crude foundry in your back yard so you can cook steak with molten metal and feed it to your dog! Tell me about how you do Science At Home every day! Personally, I experiment with hydrochloric acid by immersing all my food in it.

Get a snorkel and fill up your sink. Look up into the mirror and marvel at your ability to beat the system, amphibious guy.

Crudely Extract DNA at home: Get a fruit (a soft fruit like a banana works well for this) Take 1/3 cup of the fruit, put it in a ziploc bag and mash it up Cell lysis step: Take 1/2 cup of water, add 2 tsp of dish soap and 1/2 teaspoon of salt, mix Add this to your bag of fruit and mix it up Isolation step: Filter your fruit bag through a coffee filter into a glass; this liquid contains your DNA Take (preferably cold) 70% or more ethanol or isopropanol and pour it down the side of your glass so it floats on top of your solution; white strands will form; this is your DNA preicpitate!

never look at the sun unless its through a solar filter. you can get a pair of cardboard eclipse or solar glasses really cheaply as long as there isn't an eclipse any time soon. then, put them on and look at the sun when its sunny out! its cool lookin' and has spots and poo poo, i recommend it. most people have never actually seen the sun before which is pretty crazy if you think about it

I utilize natural yeast fermentation processes to produce ethanol, then I ingest it and make notes of the biological effects.

I've looked right at the sun a lot of times. I don't recommend it but like it's not that bad. I don't stare at it for more than a few seconds though, that would be dumb!

Yes, certain types of welding masks do use the same type of filter but find out first by checking your masks specifications. If you want to learn Braille, it's way easier if you can see.
