Oduya can't move the puck, doesn't defend the zone entry well, and gets beat to pucks constantly on dump ins. Dallas has had some pretty bad defensemen the last decade, but there haven't been many I wouldn't trade in for Oduya's spot in the lineup. Maybe not 2014-15 Trevor Daley, but just about everyone else.

Who has the worse board play, jultz or kessel? I wanna say jultz because at least kessel has the hockey sense to see where pucks are going around the boards and get there before he has to battle for them

Dallas got crushed in the possession game in that period. Too many no talent d-men in the lineup. The Stars only have 1.5 NHL defensemen in the lineup in Goligoski and Russell. The other 4 can gently caress off out of the lineup asap. Bring up Lindell or Honka, roll with Goligoski / Klingberg / Demers / Benn / Russell / AHL guy in playoffs.

Kessel's quite good at grabbing free or contested pucks in the zone but he folds whenever anyone actually touches him. He and Bozak were actually both way better along the boards than JVR by that tracking, which is the opposite of what you'd expect based on play style or physique.
